    bow cover too tight

Anybody out there have any problems with the factory snap bow cover being too tight? I went to put mine on for the first time, and I can't get it to reach all of the snaps. Mine is a '99 SNOB, and the previous owner had never broken it out of the bag. Any Ideas on how I might stretch it?

    Thanks!

    RE: bow cover too tight

The one we got for our 94 Sport had the same issue. We got it snapped after about an hour of stretching and heating with a blow dryer. It was a total PITA. Then we just left it on for the winter. I am hoping it goes on a little easier next time but have not tried it yet.

Definitely get it hot. Have installed a number of neighbors covers that have shrank.

Sometimes can get them hot in the Sun. Sometimes takes
a heat gun. Never tried running it through the dryer, but
I bet that would work too. Once on, it should stretch out in the
Sun. Particularly if you tow the boat on a hot day. Combination
of the heat and the wind really stretch it out.

You can take a pair of pliers and grab ahold of it to stretch it and get it snapped down. The lack of use tends to shrink them up a bit (Not using it at all or not snapping every snap).

Thanks for the ideas. Never thought of a heat gun, but I might try it. After about an hour, I have gotten about 95% of them snapped, but I agree with Kevin, a real PITA. No question of whether it is going to be taught enough, which made me laugh at the little support pole for the center. Thanks guys.

I had the same problem this morning. When I came home from fishing I took the cover and put it in the stationary tub with warm water and let it soak for 2 hours. Then while still wet I took it out to the boat and got all of it snapped except 4 snaps up by the windshield, however I did get the 3 snaps onto the center section of the windshield. Also I would tell you that I bought a snap handle from Overtons that worked really good. I will keep the cover on and when we get another sunny day I will pull the boat out of the garage and let the cover warm up and hopefully get the last 4 snaps. My boat is a 97 Lund pro sport adventure. Good luck

I used a few Extend-A-Snaps on the back part of the bow cover.

I have thrown it in the dryer for a minute on high then ran out to the boat with it and snapped it on. Once on I wouldnt take it off again till i got home. It is a royal PITA to get on
