    Needing a trailer for my 2012 210

    Hey all,

I purchased a new 2012 SAN210TE back this past March. I decided at the time to not pick up a trailer with it as the dealer mentioned I can use a yard trailer to move my boat from storage to lake and back at the end of the season. Well as nice as the dealer was for letting me do this I found it to be a bit of a pain since I had to wait for them to arrange the trailer. Not a big deal but I was still at their mercy.

So, I'm looking to buy a trailer before next spring. The dealer sells new Boatmate trailers for $4500. My biggest thing is, we only use it to move the boat in the spring from dealer to lake and in the fall from lake to dealer. The trailer never gets used any other time. We don't travel at all! If anyone has or knows of a use trailer for less, if you could kindly let me know that would be great. Otherwise, if you know if a brand that might be less than $4500 I would appreciate the name of said company.

    Thanks everyone!
    Roger

Check out EZLoader, but it's going to depend on how close a distributor is. The price you quoted for a Boatmate is a pretty good deal.
Finding a used trailer when you it will be a very luck break.

I agree with miljack $4,500 for a new boatmate is a pretty good deal.

I'm not arguing the point that it's not a good deal, my problem is I only use it twice a year and for $4500 it's not such a good deal. I drive it 50 miles and park the trailer for 4 months then drive it back 50 miles and leave it for 8 months. That's it! If I used the trailer to move the boat from lake to lake than I would have it already.

Guessing you bought the boat from Peter right? Great person.

I'd get a trailer that goes with the boat. Although you won't use it, if you trade or sale it will help with that. 4500.. Great deal. At best you might find an off brand trailer for 3500 to handle that boat.

            Just a suggestion.

Agree with Crad, you'll get it back on the resale of the boat. If you don't have a trailer with the boat you'll have to negotiate the price of the trailer then anyway...

Hey Crad, yeah I bought it from Peter. He is awesome and the entire dealership is great! Everyone is very helpful and the price of the trailer is good I'm just torn on spending that money since we only use it to move from a-b and back again. I understand the resale but that is 5+ years away for us so it's not in our minds yet.

Anyway, thank you to all. I wish there was an easier way but I guess not.

If you buy an off brand trailer you are going to lose the money in the resale. spend the 4500 now. JMO.

Just a thought, would your dealer loan or hire a trailer to you for the few times you need it?

Thats exactly what they did this year. The dealer I use has been more then helpful in this but I hate to keep asking. My next call will be to see if they will deliver and pick up the boat before and after the season for a price. I don't mind paying. It will get me years before I equal the price of a trailer.
