Surfing with a SAN 210, old and new hull.

Any difference in the wave between the new and old hull?

Yes to me big difference. The wave seems larger on new hull but remember the prop spins differently on newer boats

If you ask me, it is night and day difference. Newer hull is a 100 times better and is great on both sides.

Agreed - the new hull is MUCH better. I have owned both.

Wow! Didn't expect such emphatic responses! I'm 48 and need to shift to more surfing. I'm selling my 99 Air and was considering a pre-2007 SAN, but not anymore.

I don't know if the hull has changed (I don't think so) between the 2007 and 2008-13 year model but the interior has! The 2007 was like a 220, a bit less roomy because there was a bump in front of the engine compared to the 2008-up that are strait. The rest of the boat was pretty much the same, 2007 5.7 Exc was 330hp ZR6 375hp, 2008 5.7 was 343hp ZR6 390hp, 2009-12 Exc was 343hp ZR409, and ZR450 (2011?-12-13). The amount of stock ballast may also have change thru the years.

For surfing, the old SAN hull is just okay. Nothing to write home about. If you are going to switch to primarily surfing and the cost difference is not an issue, definitely go with the newer hull.

For people who primarily wakeboard and wake is the most imporant thing, many people will say stick with the old hull. It's not that the new hull is bad for wakeboarding, and the wake is easier on the knees, but the vertical kick off the classic SAN hull was and remained the gold standard until the G series perhaps.
