Shag, thanks for posting those pics, Now gotta do this! I had the round style on my previous boat, and they were bright, but NOTHING like the Shadowcasters! But, dang the SC's are $$$$$! Shag, does your bar sit in the water at surfing speeds? Anything you would change if doing a bar again?2008 230 TE-ZR6

Shag, Love them. Start a 'moonlighting' business and sell one to me. Who made the mounting bracket?2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)
pre 2010 - various open bow boats and jet skis

The bar does not drag in the water. It is under water at idle speed or at rest so the lights are cool and surfing or cruising, I believe enough water gets on the lights to keep them cool. The SC have a built in over heat protection so that they will not damage. I have, a couple times had to reset the breaker after long surf sets - possibly they are were not getting cooled enough.
The only thing I might have done a tiny bit different, is move the lights a bit more outboard on the bar. I think it might light the surf wave up a little better... It is great the way it is, just curious that's all. I just found scrap aluminum tube and plate at a scrap place here, and found a local shop to weld it up for me. I do get tons of compliments.Last edited by shag; 10-15-2012, 01:49 PM.
