The hydrogate on the 230 is a manually controlled lever that has 3 positions to controll ramp to vert. The NCRS on the G23, is automatic and adjusts to help you get on plane (senses weight in boat, how much it's struggling, and where you are at in the speed), and once at riding speed goes to the position you preset it to (if you have it on automatic). It has 6 different settings for rampy to more vertical (0-6) and then a low/high intensity setting. You can also set it manually, but regardless is all computerized through the LINC2 screen.2018 SAN G23 XR550

Jay,
What setting do you put your NCRS on? I was told by a few to just leave it alone on the preset from the factory...Current Nautique: 2013 G23
Previous Nautiques: 2012 SANTE 230, 2011 SANTE 230, 2010 SANTE 210, 2006 SANTE 210

The NCRS works well, best I can tell, to help the boat get on plane faster. i also leave it on 5 and automatic. It can get slightly confused around 14 to 15 mph in a non-weighted boat. If I set the ZO between 14 - 15 MPH, and have the NCRS on automatic, the plate slowly raises and lowers giving a very slow porpoising affect and the zero off surge is more pronounced. Turn off the NCRS or speed up or slow down and it goes away.
