    wake surf rope length

now that is pretty much off season i have time to shop...

i see most wake surf rope handle compbo's are 20 feet...i am assuming that is from handle to end of rope...one of the ones i am looking at as 4 x 5 foot sections...

most video's show the rope hooked to tower...

Are people finding 20 feet is long enough? too short, too long?

    Thanks

Sounds about right. Wakesurf ropes are very short, since you will be riding very close to the platform. On our 210 SANTE, our wake sweet spot is about 5-6 feet away from the end of the platform. Just make sure you get a proper surf rope: i.e. knots towards the end of the rope and a big knot or T handle at the very end. The knots are easy to grab in order to "choke up" on the rope and get you in the sweet spot. Avoid other types of rope that end with a triangle handle (aka wakeboard, waterski) since you may catch a limb in that opening - particularly if you throw the rope back on the boat, miss, and it keeps dangling in the water too close to you.

We have the straight line knotted surf rope and have taken all the sections off using only the knotted part....attached to the tower. I'm not sure of the length of that section.

We use a Ronix rope with the triangle handle. Two sections are off, so we are only using 20' which is plenty of rope. The next one will not have have a handle as we had a few scrapes and burns because of it, mainly new riders.
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

pre 2010 - various open bow boats and jet skis
