I think I see whats going on here... you cut a hole (~1" diam) that went through the water jacket to the dry part of the riser, then filled it with some stock, welded it in, then drilled and tapped that stock?

      Pretty cool.

Yep, that is exactly what I did.

It doesn't take much to ruin them but your setup looks like it should work fine. You can see where I mounted the gauge in my first picture. My system also had a USB cable I could attach to a laptop to record the A/F ratio at any rpm and load. I was concerned about high rpm tuning as this was a 10:1 Compression ratio motor and I didn't want to burn it down with a lean mixture.

Now you got my curiousity. I was under the impression that you can only data log Air fuel ratio with a bare bones electronic distributor. Also, the only way to data log air/fuel ratio and engine RPM was to have a distributor with a spark controlled (from an ECM) ignition module. Is my assumption wrong, with regards to data logging engine rpm?

I don't own that boat anymore and this was about 3-4 years ago so I'm going from memory. I will try to dig up some info on the software I was using but I don't think I have the data logs anymore. I see what I can find this weekend.
