    Fake-a-Lake on sloped driveway

    Hi,
Was wondering if using a fake-a-lake on a downward sloping driveway would have any bad effects?
    Thanks!

Not a big fan of those, too many stories about them falling off when boat shakes/moves and motor ends up running dry.

If your intake hose from the pickup to your strainer is long enough simply disconnect at intake and place in a 5 gallon bucket of water with hose running in same bucket. No slope will interfere with this method.

Another option is about $10-20 worth of Brass hardware to create a hose connection in line.

Thank Jeepn...main concern was the oil level being different than on flat water

          I think that's a different question.

Getting the fake-a-lake in the right position is a lot more work that undoing the intake hose at the filter screen. I run the garden hose directly into my intake hose and adjust the water flow so it doesn't flow out.

that's more a question of what boat. I have a small ski nautique. setting up the the fake a lake is fast and easy for me. i adjusted the height one time when i bought it, now i just reach under and prop it up. I would like a fancy flush kit, but can't justify it with how easy it is to set up the fake a lake on my boat.

Related and unrelated to post, the V-Drive engine is (for lack of better description) backwards. Which means that if anything, they have risk of damage when tilted forward or stopping.

Direct drive are the opposite. Risk when going forward or tilted back.
