Don't get me wrong, stock is great! Add another 2100 pounds to it (450 each rear locker, 200 under midship seats, 200 under each bow seat, 375 bow floor) and the wake gets rock hard and seems to be a bit more lippy at the top, which I prefer. Some of my friends like a softer wake, so they prefer to ride it stock.

About each rear locker and under mid ship seat it is clear, but what kind of fat sacs you use for under each bow seat and bow floor? I think very less space there.

I have to agree with ironj32,extra weight sharpens the lip, we keep a extra 1000 pounds of lead in the boat at all times that way the gauges work properly and adjust the the stock ballast to the rider,on another note can't wait to try the nss, this spring .

I bought the custom bow bags for the XStar overflow kit. They fit perfectly up there.

I wish nautique had gone with an MB style fill/drain system. I would be very surprised if ALL companies went to that in a few years. I know the bags are better in terms of storage but if they are below the deck it doesn't matter anyways. You can't argue with a 1 min fill time and 30 sec drain time.

how do the fill gauges work with bags? Like specifically how do they work?

i love the idea of sacks rather than tanks. to replace a sack is a minor project, replacing talks major headache

I don't know what Mike Murphy charges for that which has something to do with it. I'm also not sure how much engineering is involved in making it work. It would seem like the G boats would be perfect with the ballast already in the floor unless a large amount of that space sits above the water line. it would be interesting to hear why some of the MFG's don't use it.

He's working on a new one that drains and fills between pulls, pretty cool to get out of the hole unloaded and then fill on the move. The idea is save lots of fuel by not having to have the boat full the whole time.

Good question. Today was my first real day breaking it in playing with everything. Initially my front belly tank gauge was inaccurate... Reading 100% full when it was empty, just as I started out of the marina.

Then I filled till it peed out the overflow... Then drained, and it was accurate from then on.

i have a twin 1100lb valve switched add on plumbed into my rear trunks. I think it estimates its full based on how long the pumps have ran. Does anyone know how the pumps auto shutoff? How so they know to shutoff?

My first boat was the Calabria it had the below deck tanks ....filled and empty in about 2 min they had the rights to the design until they sold to mb best ballast system hands down , no pumps period .

Yeah you can check it out on youtube. Search best ballast system ever and click the one that has a yellow boat in the background and it will tell you all about his new system that involves a plate acting as a "shovel" for the water while the boat is moving. I think it works out to 1000 pounds per minute!

I think this is the one referred to above. No water in boat until on plane. So easier to get on plane. Don't need bigger motors. No worry about water off back or front cause it empties before you stop. Can fill like 1,000 lbs in 5 seconds. This is pretty neat.

You can get a pair of the 400 pound sacs for the same price. There will be more material than necessary but I think you'd still have good results.
