    2012 SAN Extra Sac System

I am looking at a gently used 2012 230 that has a sack system that is daisy plumbed in. They are two 750's and they integrate into the factory system. What are the pros and cons of such system? Is this an option or a boat I should stay away from? According to seller is was installed at the dealer it was purchased from. Any input would be great. Do these boats also have a cigarette lighter that I can plug an
air compressor into to fill tubes and towables with?

    Thanks for all your help..

Just curious why you want a 230 and what boat your coming from?

To answer question the system describe is piggyback system and is basically what everybody on this site does with their boats.

I am coming from a SeaRay 220 Select. I boarded behind a 210 and the inside was small. I like the 230 as it has the walkthrough and bigger inside. Is that a good thing to piggy back? What are the risks to doing this?

        Thanks.

What year 210 were you in. We have an 08 210 and the interior of our boat has more room in it than a 23ft Malibu. As far as the piggyback system, there are really no risks to it. It's just a way to get more water ballast in the boat without having to manually fill each sac.

It was a 2006/2007 I believe. It has the engine hatch that curved into the boat.

The pre 2007 is the old style and is smaller. I can guarantee you that a 2008 or newer 210 is going to have much more room than that sea ray you used to have. I am not sure your level of wakeboard experience or if you are even buying this boat to wakeboard behind. The 230 is somewhat more of a pro level boat in my experience the wake is huge on it and you have to go a little faster than what a beginner would want to go.
As for the bags if you don't like them in there you can easily take them out and go back to stock you'll never know the bags were in there.

No risk to piggy backing except if the sack collapses all the way down it can prevent air from entering the hard tanks while emptying...and this can create a vacuum that will collapse the hard tank enough to damage the sender unit for the water level.

If you search here, you'll find several solutions to this problem. The least effective is to put cross-drilled pvc pipes in the soft bags. In my experience, the bag can still collapse around the pipe and shut off vent air to the hard tank.

A simple solution (but a kludge) is the one I've used: use a bungie to lift the soft sack up at the vent to make sure air can always pass through it. Once I did that, I never had a problem.

Another person posted a great solution involving running a small diameter flexible tube from the fill through the sack and out the sack vent...this ensures air can always pass from the sack vent to the hard tank. It's a little more work to set up, that that's how I would do it now if I were running piggyback.
