Replacing a steering cable on SAN210TE, Instructions Please,

Ok, I have read the posts for over two hours on how to replace a steering cable for my 2005 210 SANTE, and I still cant get a clear picture as it changes from model to model and some threads are great for certain years but I havent found one for mine. If someone can direct me to a good link or provide me with a step by step instructions I would be greatful.

    Thanks for your help!
    Danny

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago. I could not find what you are looking for either, but once I started it was pretty straight forward.

      Hi Hondaprlud,

Can you recall any details or how long it took you?

      Thanks

Pull the old one out and pul the new one in.

That's it, but first you're going to have to do your best contortionist act to get it unbolted from the clamp block and the rudder. I did mine by myself and an air ratchet really helped, it's hard to get 2 wrenches to the same spot reaching around the motor. Fortunately that's the worst part so once you figure it out the rest is fairly simple.

Onece the cable is loose on both ends you want to tie a rope to it and pull it to the dash. Cover both end in plastic so you don't have grease all over the place. When the old one is out hook the rope to the new one and pull it back through.

The way I was told to hook it back up was this; hook it to the steering wheel 1st. Then measure how much throw it has from lock to lock. Set the wheel in the middle and connect the rudder. Where the cable lands in the clamp block is where it should be. It worked for me but took a little fine tuning to get it right, if someone has a better way I would love to hear it.
