I've never seen anyone build a new backseat, but I don't see why not.
I would assume it would need to be a water tank shaped like a seat.
I wouldn't think using lead or solid matter in the new seat would be
good because it would be too much permanent weight to trailer, and
could cause some severe stress on the boat while on the trailer
or in storage.
You might look on the stereo threads on this site. A number of guys
have rebuilt seats to accommodate stereo speakers, etc. I don't see why
you could't do the same thing and insert hard or soft water tanks instead
of big woofers. There are some pretty good photos of these stereo
setups.

loner,
We're looking to do something similar for our 98. Our thinking is a tank in the rear, with cushions on top to look like a seat.
The basic idea is to make a tank from stainless in a profile to match the rear of the boat, which extends to both sides and up under the gunnels.
Problem is that 1 seat / tank at the rear is unlikely to replace the 3 sacs you are currently using. We're in the same situation.
