Haha Im just messing with ya ford, dodge, and Chevy are like nautique, mastercraft, and Malibu ... They are all nice and they are all too expensive haha Mine doesn't change that much from city to highway the research I did ( which wasn't a lot) said ford got the best mpg. ( not a fact just what I read on the Internet so it could totally be wrong). I looked a thebdodge it was nice Ford just gave me a better deal. **** when your spending 65k on a pick up it should get 100 mpg lol Does n3 territory include lawrenceburg IN I had you guys doing my warranty work before no wake took over nautique. I'm not really sure where I fall. I want to get some info on a trade in value for my 230. Im hoping it sells by march if not ill trade it.

Only one problem with your previous statement, Nautique is far superior to any other boat mentioned haha.

If I didn't have to tow my wifes 12K horse trailer I'd have a half ton. I live on some country roads that get old driving a 1 ton down all the time. The new 1/2 tons are amazing with how much power they have now.

You are right. When people are competetive the customer wins. What I am amazed with most of my truck clearly is the mpg as opposed to the previous hemi and the low end grunt. The previous hemi in my opinion was a little high strung. My 3/4 ton reved a lot pulling loads and hunted a gear or two. This truck will gladly pull pretty steep grades while towing and it just stays settled in overdrive TC locked up and rarely downshifts. That was always something I hated going from diesel to gas towing was the gear hunting. I don't mind the ride of the bigger trucks but this one is like driving a luxury car.

I have a 2012 ecoboost. FX4 crew cab with 3.73 gears. Had it for 10 months and have put 15,000 miles on it now. Averaged 16.2mpg since I got it (includes lots of towing). Usually get 20 hwy 14 city (have camper shell installed) empty. Towing my 98 super sport (bout 4.5k lbs w/trailer and full tank of gas) I avg about 11mpg. Just took it to my parents to store for the winter. 360 miles from Richmond, VA to the mountains of southwest VA and got 10.1mpg. 310 miles were interstate doing 70mph. It likes the gas when towing, but it pulls hard. The low-end torque is amazing. G23 is coming next year, and I am sure it will tow it no problem, but I can definitely see it getting somewhere in the 7-9mpg range. If i end up towing it a lot, I will get a diesel. Otherwise I love my F150 and will just have to cry a little when I fill up the G and the truck at the same time. One thing to note, the ecoboost is extremely sensitive to minor changes that affect MPG. I can tell a major difference in winter blend fuels, going 60mph vs 70mph, having 2 or 3 passengers, etc...

I think most new trucks/suvs are very sensitive to any changes when dealing with MPG. My wifes 4Runner averages 19 MPG with the stock street slicks, however once I put a little heavier duty tire of the same size the fuel economy dropped 2 MPG. I couldn't believe it so I put the stockers back on again. Sure enough the fuel economy jumped back up to 19 again.

My Ford SD seemed to be the same way. Once I got some new tires the fuel economy droppppped!

I have a 2011 FX4 Crewcab Ecoboost, last year for holidays, I pulled my buddies Mastercraft X Star and I had my Yamaha Superjet in the box plus a weeks supply of holiday gear in the back and the wife and kids in the truck. I rolled over the self weigh scales and I scaled in at the high 14,000's. That engine is a beast, I could pull out in the passing lanes going up the hills through British Columbia and be at 70 mph at the top of the hill and not be close to having the pedal to the carpet. The engine in this thing is awesome, although the gas mileage isn't what the manufacturer claimed, I don't really care it's just a fun truck to drive. The only negative thing that I have to say about the engine, is that when you're going down a hill with the cruise on and it starts dropping gears that you really notice the lack of the two extra cylinders,it can't really hold you back when you're loaded.

Maybe someone will make an exhaust break for the Eco boost engine .

Anyone towing with 3.55 gears? I'm looking at a new truck and I like the F-150 FX4 or Ram Outdoorsman. The FX4 typically comes with 3.55 gears. Right now I have Sport, but plan to upgrade to a later 210.

I have a 2013 fx4 eco crew cab 6.5' bed. I have the 3.73 rear and it's great for towing. But maybe the fuel Econ suffers a little. 3.55 is probably a happy medium. Although, a big truck like this really won't get great mileage. I get about 15 or 16 avg. I get 20 on longer freeway trips, and about 11 towing my 95 sport. I am very happy with the truck, decent mileage and it hulls ***.

YA brand new G23 off the lot bare bones with no gas weighs about 8000 with the trailer. Most are in the 8500 range with some options, gear and gas. Add big stereo and extra batteries and you are near 9000. I just weighed mine, right at 8800lbs.

my BoatmAte trailer weighs exactly 1600. My tundra gets 6-8mph in the 70-75mph range. 60-65 I get 10-12mpg.

                          G23 and an Ecoboost!

LOL! Its a V6...YES, its going to be boosting its little azz off when towing heavy loads (never mind the RPMs..the turbos are spinning and pumping. You just ran face first into the EcoBoost conundrum. And you also just ran into the truth, rather than the marketing mumbo jumbo. I for one, will never own an EB powered truck....unless its an EcoBoost V8.
                          Three things you can do....
                          Buy a V8...not a 5.0L...rather something with more guts.
                          Buy a F250
Put up with the terrible MPG under load.

That is amazing, my last two 5.7 Hemis gets better milage than that. So much for V8 power with V6 mpgs. EcoBoost is such a fraud. In the end, its just V6...

I'm sorry I hate to be such a downer on it but EB is the reason I don't personally drive Fords anymore..after 20+ years. Ford is shoving that thing down our throats with deceptive marketing. Instead of giving truck owners what they want...like RAM is doing with powerful V8s and diesel option for 1.2 tons, they are telling us what we are going to have. I guess they know what we want better than we do. Their V8 offering of the 5.0 is OK...but its just OK.

If you don't want a ecoboost buy a powerstroke and be done with it. I don't personally think it is very smart to tow a g23/g25 with a half ton if you tow a lot. We have an ecoboost awd in our flex and it gets 23 mpg highway. Pretty good for the power it puts out.

Personally, with the capacities of the new half tons, I can not justify spending more money on a 3/4 ton. Not to mention the added maintenance costs of a diesel. I have only towed about 7000 lbs with mine, but it felt very confident doing it. If I was towing 10,000 lbs plus every day I would defiantly get a diesel, but I don't. I hate to say it but I'm a chevy guy, but I love my new ecoboost fx4.
