Had a "wild" day on the river today

Decided to pull the boat out today for one last shred up in Canada. This river is our version of the California Delta

The water was 46F. We has an unusual event. The local firefighters lit up the large cat tails to burn them off. Ended up getting some unreal pictures with us riding passed the flames but they are on my buddies camera. The flames were probably 30ft high at one point

    heres a few iphone photos.

        yikes.

What is the rule of thumb for the sum of the two to 1) ski wet and 2) ski dry?

Not sure what the rule is! I saw that it was a sunny day and have 2 die hard buddy's so we went for it!

Having a heated garage for my boat extended my season this year in Canada from March 21 to Nov 22!

          Anyone beat that record?

i had a wild day on friday on my river. a fisherman threatened to shoot my buddy who was driving me, but he said he didnt have his gun. oh and he had his 5 year old child with him. we've been there for 15 years. trust me, we did nothing wrong or annoying, besides tossing a monster wake. oh if only i was driving the boat. i'd have made a citizens arrest b/c i do carry mine on the boat. winter riding is awesome when the air is warm.

LOL, tossing a monster wake more times then not will rock the heck out of any small craft, perhaps he felt this threatened his child's safety?? Threatening to shoot you is certainly a bit extreme though, I would definitely avoid that guy whenever possible.

we were actually taking a turn so the wake was washed out for him some. ya we've never ever seen him before. our river has boats of all sizes from itty bitty stouters and john boats to cruiser yachts and go fast boats. many of which plow through the water dumbly creating just as big of rollers. also, his son didn't have a life jacket on. needless to say they are probably bama fans.

Nice! I lost a bet to a buddy re: whose team would make it to the NC (unfortunately Southern California imploded this year). Worse for me, it was a bet on who buys dinner and beers, he is a lineman for the Eagles right now (played for 'bama). I am going to be about $600 lighter in the wallet real quickly.
