the linc system would be a great vehicle to display some night vision. my comparison is to mercedes style night vision. granted it's not needed, but neither is the linc. i for one would love to see that option. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6DMidknVCo

Would you trust night vision to see a 40 foot log with 4 inches bobbing above the surface of the water? Both the log and the water will be at the same temperature, so you will not get an infrared signature off it.
For what it is worth, all the analog gauges and speedometers on my 1997 Ski Nautique still work. So does the key switch, and the other switches.
Can you say the same for your digital Teleflex gauges in the 2000 to 2004 boats?
Can you say the same for the keypad on your boat?
Will the link system works on your new 2013 boat, in 2025? Will you be able to get parts for it then?
If I am on a vacation, and my ignition switch goes bad, I could pretty much walk into any local auto parts store, get an ignition (key) switch that would work on my boat. How many days of your vacation would be lost waiting for some part to get shipped to Lake Powell? Providing it is not NLA. (No Longer Available)

I'm not a fan of the linc or any fancy electronics in boats. However, its here. My 2005 keypad is just fine and I've never forgot the keys at home. The night vision would just be a good way for docking @ night if u leave ur lights off or other situations. Dumb? Kinda. Fun idea that wouldn't be too hard to integrate? Ya.

I agree with Gride and DanielC. The linc is a neat novelty, and full of technology, but I have seen them fail, and when that happens - you have nada, zip, zilch for gauges.... No fuel, no speed, no nothing. I like my 2009 dash and think it will be a good re-sale point that I have it, and not the linc. Maybe if there were gauges somewhere as a back up.... Just my .02

We lived on Herrington Lake in Kentucky for a while
There were some guys there with some type of night vision goggles they used with their bass boats. They'd go past at he bottom of a canyon surrounded by walks of rock at 60-70mph at midnight. Keep in mind this was no Corps of Engineers lake, just a river dammed up by a power company with tons of trees and such floating in it. Never tried it myself, but they believed in it 109%.
