    Sport Nautique ballast

Wondering if anyone knows what the box is under the bow on the drivers side that takes up 1/3 of the space under the playpen open bow in the 1995 sport nautique? I am looking at adding ballast to it. What ballast bag fits well in the ski locker (it measures 19wx68lx10h)? What ballast bag fits well in the front bow? What works good for weighting the back of the boat?

    Thanks

I am actually in the same boat "literally" and would like to know what that 1/3 is....i'm about to tear the boat apart to figure it out. As far as weighting goes i have 400lb of lead behind the rear seat and in the flip up seat storage a 300lb Straightline UtiliSac just in front of the seat behind the motor and a 300lb Utilisac in the Ski locker. The weight is too much in the back if you have people so i'm playing with it. This past weekend we ran the same setup with 1 driver/ 1 spotter and a 600lb sac in the bow that ran front to back...and the wake was really, really nice...very firm and about knee high but we did have to be careful taking water over the bow

For the ski locker you could Try the fly high tube sac w704 it measures 62x16x10 http://fatsac.com/FATSACS.bifh
Alternatively maybe the arrow sac will work, too, but you have to see if the space extends forward into the bow triangle.

I was in the same boat as you but just completed my auto ballast install on my 94 sport. it is a 4-bag, 4 reversible pump system, 2 pumps each operating off a shared .75" thru hull. I have a v-drive sack on each side of the engine, a tube sac and pump in the ski locker, and a 5-600 lb sac in front of the rear seat. All pumps are hidden: 3 of them are under the gunnels in the rear (behind the rear backrest on the sides) and the front pump is in the ski-locker. I haven't tested it out yet, but everything is hidden as best as it could be with this boat.

As for the box at the feet of the driver seat, I believe that is just to make the wiring, air hoses, steering and throttle cables, etc, go in to the floor in an orderly fashion, and to be able to mount the kick-panel to. Not sure that there is much function outside of that. Maybe someone else can chime in, but I mounted a power distribution blocks board (for fuses, amps, and ballast wiring) up there.

        Photos to come!
