nautique 200 rear back rest removal

does anyone know how to remove the rear upright seat cushion. it seems one has to remove the small storage box under the rear seat first then pull the 2 straps attached to the rear upright seat, however the fixing screws for the sorage box are inside the box and not accessible ( 2 at least) any ideas?

Once you pop the velcro behind the two straps at the bottom, lift the back pad straight up. Despite the impression made by the straps, the pad does not rotate up, it is hooked and removers vertically. You can take the back box out if it helps with carpet cleaning.
