Rode two sets yesterday here in Charlotte, NC. Water temp was about 57 and air temp was 70. First set I went with the dry suit and was burning up....second set, board shorts and heater top. Much more comfortable the second set. If you're looking for an amazing heater top to keep the wind off of you and one that dries super fast, highly recommend the Jet Pilot F-35 Flight Jacket with Glideskin. I keep thinking each time I go out its going to be too cold to ride with just this heater top, but so far it hasn't happened.
ya'll are crazy. what suits do ya'll wear? my air was about 74 and water was about 66. i was just in a 2/2 spring suit.
Most people I ride with all wear the o'neill boost. Works pretty dang good! I'm still trying to find a decent solution for me hands! Also a neo hoodie and booties are very nice to have!
+1 for the O'Neill Boost. I bought one last year...never had one leak, even after horrendous edge catches. Just be ready to sweat under it if its not super cold out! Thing keeps you toasty.
i hope to be getting an oneill psycho 1. just trying to decide on a 4/3 or 3/2. my last full suit is about 12 years old so i know either will be way flexier than it, but im not sure.
I have not ridden since October, but I will be riding at ski freeze Jan 1st on the Schuylkill River north of Philly! This group does this ride/ski every year.
Wetsuits are frowned upon so I will be trunking it!
Water temp is 73 still here in Orlando. We were out both sat and sun this past weekend. As long as the air temp is above the water temp I'm okay with 73 degree water.
