kids love the pool but, my wife and I like the fireplace. there are two waterfalls on either side of the fireplace. we love the fire and water thing but, we built the waterfalls too high and they make a really loud noise. contractor said to build them lower and we didn't listen. he was right. also re-did our outdoor kitchen but, i don't think i have great pics of that right now because it's the dead of winter. but, we love it in the summer and the best part about it is the Kegerator!
we built our home about 8 years ago. We had a waterfall where the fireplace is and my wife didn't like it, so we tore it down and put in the fire/water feature. i think it's a must have for summer evenings!!!
thanks for the pics from the others who have posted. i love looking at them. Reminds me of summer! Our summers are too short up here!2013 G23 550 NSS

Ours is a doublewide on the perfect lake. We added on with a nice deck and a glassed in porch for the winter. Obviously, the doublewide isn't interesting. But the add ons are in my opinion.

Hope these images work, uploading on my phone.
But important parts of a lake house for me include-
Secluded. I prefer my place to be as hidden as possible. I don't want neighbors! I can't see either of the neighbors through the trees. Probably 3-400 feet to the next house. Privacy is awesome and it's also fairly hidden from the lake. About 125 feet from shore.
I'd also prefer to be on a spot of the lake where you can ride right out front. Unfortunately in front of my place is shallow and busy. I have about a 20 min boat ride to my usual spot.
As for inside,we have a 3 season porch which is the place to chill in the winter. Fireplace is nice for cold nights. Having a good view from the living room, basement and master bed is really cool as well. We also have a large deck which gives enough room to grill and seat about 15. Great place to entertain!
Also if your state allows, boat houses are incredible. Im able to clean it on land and its sheltered from weather. Plus it's tied into our alarm system, extra safety to protect my baby!
Also, a big *** fire pit.2012 SANTE 230

All you guys up north with these beautiful lake houses, I don't know how you do it with such short riding seasons. What do you guys do to kill the time while not in season? Maintenance around the house?
