haha, marc got butt hurt because he enjoys a pedestrian activity which some of us have expressed aversion to because the behavior/activity may have a negative impact on the watersports scene as a whole. on public waterways, the high property tax paying homeowners and the greenies have an absurdly strong voice when it comes to protection of their property and environments. just thinking about your situation (by the way...congrats on putting yourself in a position to own lake front)...you mentioned a 200, which i am guessing is indicative that your HOA on your private lake had intentions of minimize the effect of the watercraft on the experience for the rest of the property owners by limiting the length to 20ft. i suspect it is not without reason that the HOA could reconvene and change the rules such that wake enhancing devices are also not allowed (if they are deemed to have a negative effect), in an effort to preserve the experience of the rest of the property owners.

and for what its worth, i have remounted my horse...my steed of choice is a Wake edition Sea Doo that can get to places you cant. it will get there faster and more economically, takes less time to pick up a downed rider, and doesnt ruin the butter for everyone else. As for my 230...I still have it, but it only gets used for catching sun and making lake runs to some local restaurants...i can get way more quality board time behind the sea doo than the 230 given equal conditions....

For all the negative commenters, please sell your cars and remount your horses! Obviously, times are moving a bit too fast for you. -Marc
Not sure if I'm a negative commenter, but we've been wake surfing since the mid 80's. This is nothing new, just the equipment being used has been updated. We used to use real surf boards, a Sno Surfer, or a Skurfer, since that's all we had back in the day. The Sno Surfer wasn't all that much different from the modern wake surf board. Someday soon, somone is going to ride a surf board on his knees, and maybe devise a strap to keep it connected to his body, and think he invented a new sport

I know there is a lot of money to be made selling bigger boats each year. I can understand your position especially if you have a wakeboarding school, and latch on to the latest fad for your income.

But the reality is that bans are happening. To deny it is just sticking your head in the sand. I am not the enemy. There are powerful political groups with names like "riverkeepers" in their name, that are a lot better at getting legislative changes affecting all river, and lake users than people who own boats.

How do rivers and lakes enforce bans you ask? Easy. by banning ALL towed watersports, or putting in a 5 MPH speed limit.

As far as remounting horses, and selling our cars, ironic you say that. Ever barefooted? Ever ran a slalom course? Ever skied in or held a pyramid?
Or is nirvana to you standing up on something with the surface area of a barn door and letting go of a rope for 20 seconds?

How do lakes enforce the rules they dream up? Doesn't seem like the sheriff or local authority would have any motivation to help out.

And now, for a different point of view.
Here in Oregon we have already lost areas for ALL towed boat watersports because of the ever increasing wake size wake surfing requires.
Sure Wakesurfing is fun, but I believe it will eventually result in bans of all towed boat watersports.

How many boats is that going to sell?

great innovation, i suppose. the market has spoken, CC (and the industry) has done their job and addressed the need. clearly i am in the minority.
You're not alone my friend! Hmm, a Tube Nautique! Could be on to something? How did the Kneeboard Nautique or Air Chair Nautique ever get missed?!

I also commend them on being innovative. I hope people continue to purchase CC products (whatever they may be) at a high level, to keep the SN 200 R&D dollars rolling in

It would be very easy for someone to develop a control box add on that does not need the LINC system at all. As long as the hull is the same, it could be made to work on any model year 210/230/236. I doubt that CC has that deep of an interest in developing it for the aftermarket, but it would be nice.

correct craft/nautique needs to do pop inspections on EVERY dealer, new or old. they seriously need to have a KEEP your dealership boat that they randomly have show up at their dealers to perform different procedures in order to qualify to stay a dealer. i'd say for every competent dealer(service staff) there are 3 or 4 totally inept ones that can't hardly change an impeller.

Can my old LINC be upgraded to the new or programmed so I can add NSS?

Know what you mean!! First tubing becoming the most popular water sport and now surfing really seems to be exploding. Quite surprising, or maybe not, how people flock to these events that require the least amount of skill and effort yet are the most disruptive to the natural environment.
