been shopping.... 2001 natique super air?

ok i sold my 96 205 dd in aug. I have been on the hunt for the replacement since. Tomorrow i am planning to look at two boats and leaning on jumping on the nautique i am just currios of any imput from the forum. My budget comfortabley is under at or under 30k.

    http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/3458517324.html

    http://www.buxtonmarine.com/web/boat...wisville-Texas

i know the super air does not have the hard ballest or docking lights but likely would of gone to bags anyhow and i have spent the last 8 years docking without docking lights so those features are not end of the world features for me.

please if anyone has something to say id love to hear it.

dealer said the gauges where updated already on the nautique, and that they have performed all the service on the boat and are the orginal sellers of the boat.

Get the nautique. It will hold its value much better and the gt-40 is super reliable. 315 hrs is nothing on that boat. Best wakeboarding hull for under 40k. If you ever want to upgrade as most boat owners eventually do, it will be a lot easier to unload the nautique than it would the centurion. I think everyone else will say the same thing.

If you're coming out of a MC 205 DD you should ride behind both boats in question first to make sure you like the wakes.
I don't know a lot about Centurions, but I do know they are way down the list for resale because not many people search for used Centurions (unless its a late model Enzo for wakesurfing) Between these 2 boats, I'd pick the Nautique. The Centurion is not even in the same league for quality, fit and finish and resale value. Price seems pretty fair for the Nautique too. Just my $.02

If the 01 is in good shape and all u have to add is ballast, I would go for it. See if you can work on the price a bit. Also ask to see that paper work to prove the hours are correct. If they did the update then they should be able to verify that. As far as the ballast goes put 500 or 750 s in rear and a locker sack on reversible pumps. Then throw a few hundred pounds of lead in the nose and wake will be money. If it is the gt40 engine it will be great. I put 800-1000 hours on my first one with no issues at all.

thank you for the reply.... i cant say that i am good enough rider to really tell a differance in wake, im just good enough to hurt myself and young enough to try something stupid but old enough to not be able do pull it off . honestly the reason i sold the mastercraft was because the girl hated walking around the motor by the time i upgraded sound sytem and etc. id never get a return on the money. I have 6 year old daughter and this is our family time so i think the extra room/storage will be welcomed!! and the split tower designs!! good lord i had the old A frame ladder style on the mastercraft and looked like a drilling operation to lower it just right to get it into storage.

When I started reading this thread that white 2001 was the first thing that came to my mind. So pretty and also in Tx.
And agreed with everything said here.
Even if you think you're not good enough, I'd definitely try both wakes if you don't know them.

If the gauges were replaced the hours most likely only reflect what has been put on since the new gauge. Beware of this with any 00'-02' CC as the gauges were known to go bad those years and the ford's will not store the hours. If the perfect pass is original it should have the actual boats hours

in the intrest of closing the thread i ended up buying a 2005 210 from buxton. Phil was a great as well as the rest of the crew at the shop. I know it is thier job/ buisness, but everyone played in the rain without a bitch or moan so its obvious they do enjoy thier jobs.

-- ill get some pictures up in new topic soon as i officially leave the mastercraft forms and move here for my primary reading.

                      thanks for your help guys.

Me and two of my buddies have bought Legacy Hull 210s from Buxtons in the last couple of years. Phill has treated us all very well on the deals. The Legacy 210 hull and that GT-40 should take care of all of your needs until you are ready for a G23. The centurion is probably a nice boat but $10,000 difference is a lot of money. Nice time to shop also - before boat fever hits everyone.

                        Good luck on your choice!

Congratulations on the '05! Can't wait to see the pictures. Aren't Phill and his crew fun to deal with?
