    01 SAN interior layout

Hi everyone, I was looking at an 01 SAN last week and there was no seating between the observers seat and the rear, so it was set up just like a DD (but obviously there was no engine in the middle). I was wondering if this was a factory option or if the boat has been modified along the way? Also the seat skins were pretty average so if those of you who have redone their interiors could give me a rough idea of prices that would be great. Thanks in advance, Scott.

I've seen one like that before. IIRC, that was a short-lived set up from the factory. I don't know if it was optional or if they just produced some before deciding the traditional layout was better.

Thanks xrichard, I can see why it was short lived, kind of wastes all the advantages of a v-drive!

I'm pretty sure that config was a custom order. I re-skinned my '03 a few years ago. I would say $5K all-in by the time I was done.

The Super Sports had full wraparound seating since inception. The configuration you described was a special order. You lose a few seats, but gain a ton of floor space for things like coolers, equipment, etc. It's a trade-off. Some prefer the extra floor space, most prefer the wraparound seating. Ultimately, CC compromised and made 3/4 wraparound seating.

Also, I know someone here in Austin with the a 2000 SAN with non-wraparound seating. He turned it into wrap around seating and was able to add in a subwoofer under one of the new seats. Looks almost factory. Not a bad setup at all.

I would love to see some pics of one of these special order interiors if anybody has any? I love the full wrap around in my 99 and always wondered why they went away from it in 2002 but it does get pretty crowded when the boat is full of people and gear so I can see why the open area behind the driver on the 02-06s has it's benefits.
