Safe to say that I don't weigh what I did in high school. I would like to get as much top end as possible, without losing the low end power.

You really have to be clueless or careless to lose low end power with an engine build. You'll need to define some concrete goals for budget and speed, we can steer you in the right direction. Plenty of BFN and engine modification experience over on correctcraftfan.com, I suggest heading over there and starting a thread.
