Sick looking setup for sure! I know it's just for advertising, but I personally would never tow the G with anything smaller than a 1/2 ton. It's not the power/torque that is the concern...it's the stability of the tow vehicle. After towing my G23 last summer with my 2011 Silverado Crew Cab 1/2 ton with Max Tow Package and the 6.2L engine (403 hp, 417lb/ft of torque), I'm strongly considering getting a 3/4 Diesel.
Found an article that says the SRT is rated to tow 7200 pounds - impressive. Again, regardless, that is a bad *** looking setup!

This is why I'll never own a G23. I've also got a newer Silverado with the 5.3L and know it's not enough. I can't justify buying a diesel truck just to pull a boat.
Sickest SUV on the market. The new 6.4 is an engine much better suited for towing anyways with the addition of VVT and MDS(for economy) systems. My aunt had a 08 that towed her 5000LB Sea Ray. It did just fine except the occasional sway on the highway. I would assume if Chrysler decided to actually make the SRT tow they did their homework and it probably tows better than the 08 my aunt had. Regardless the Best looking G tow vehicle combo rig I've yet to see! Tow a G to the lake, take it to a lap day, run it down the 1320, And get 18mpg highway. If I only had 60k+
Imagine towing 7200 lbs of something other then a boat with some real tongue weight, now that would be scary. The problem is never getting the load moving...
I couldnt imagine towing a G23 with my suv let alone a jeep. The G23 dwarfed my suv when sitting next to it. A few of the pro riders for Nautique even went out and traded in their old rides for bigger trucks.
SRT stands for Street Racing Team and it denotes a high performance model for Chrysler products. It's similar to SVT for Ford. The diesel will be very cool in the Jeep GC but I doubt it's the motor in the 2014 SRT shown here.

These new Jeep and Dodge GC and Durango platforms are heavy...Maybe not enough to tow a G23 cross country, but certainly a carefully loaded and equipped vehicle would tow the G23 a "reasonable" distance without too much trouble.
You know the tow, 6 am on a Sunday, no fuel in the boat, no gear in either the truck or boat, etc...
FWIW, I've towed our 230 with a Durango R/T and no problems whatsoever, but also very short distances around town. I also towed it with a friend's Tundra crew cab about 200 miles, and the truck towed it like a champ (well except past gas stations!), I would say felt a little more stable behind the Tundra, but we had ALOT of gear in the boat and truck, so maybe not a fair comparison...
Now a G is +1000# (advertised) over my 230, so YMMV...
