Tried Out Nautique Surf System Today!

I spent some time today with Scott Byerly and Tommy Czeschin, along with a bunch of others from Nautique, trying out the Nautique Surf System. We had a 230, G23 and G25 onsite, all with the NSS.

This system is the real deal! It creates incredible surf wakes on either side with just the push of a button. Some of the videos below include user error in the operation of the system, but I left that part in to show how quickly the system can switch sides.

Also, the last two videos show running transfers from one side of the wake to the other. It really works as easily as it looks!

The videos below are of Byerly and Tommy Czeschin. I surfed too, but these guys are way more fun to watch than I am. All of these videos were shot from the 230.

Did you guys ride the G23 with the surf system too? I just noticed that you said all videos were from the 230. Hoping that the experience is just as good, if not better, from the G23 since I just traded my 230 for the G!

Jeff, when you get a chance, at what point did you switch the nss a second before transition ,while transition,or the second you are on the opposite side ???

Saw them all, but only rode the 230. The others are at least as good!

The switch worked like this. The rider told the driver to switch, driver pushed the button, rider transferred immediately, wake cleaned up just after the transfer. The whole process took about two seconds.

The boat was actually probably weighted a bit port-side heavy with the heavier passengers happening to sit over there. Most of the riding was starboard side. That shows how well this thing works!

Any pics of the actual system out of water? Also, how was the 230 loaded?

The wave looked clean with lots of push but no bigger than a "sacked" out 230. That's what I would have expected as the Malibu Surfgate was never a ballast substitute but instead a way to rapidly configure either side.

I'd say next to none. The NSS requires the LINC 2.0 to operate, which means 2012 and newer models. I believe it only works with the Super Air model boats as well.

the starboard wave with scott looked cleaner than when tommy was riding. the port wave for sure looked a lot cleaner and like it may have had a lip. from the videos im not overly impressed with the starboard... its pretty washed out and no lip. it does look to have pretty good push and from farely far back. i would be curious to know how the boat was weighted, where people were sitting, and how close to evenly listed the boat was.
