what's your opinion on this 2001 SAN 210

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUPER...ht_2814wt_1167

The ad says perfect pass but the guy at the dealership says it's not "perfect pass" but it is something similar. He also said he isn't sure if it is controlled by RPMs or MPH. He also said ballasts are factory. Anyone know if this would have a belly bag or not or just the two wedges in the back?

I'm guessing someone might see this and just buy it without commenting but it's not worth driving 10 hours without getting some opinions from people who know Nautiques.

    Thanks!

I would snag it up either way...from the pics it looks clean. And price is nice too. Dont have to worry about me, im too far away and not quite ready yet for another boat.

Boat looks nice! I don't see Perfect Pass (at knee level is a radio remote). May check the hours, those hours may not be accurate as the gt40 are not logging the hours. Ballast are 2 flat tanks in the back, no belly. Engine is 310hp.

00'-02' CC used some really bad gauges which failed regularly, whenever the gauge with the hour meter was replaced hours would go back to zero, unless the installer took the time to run the hours up to match what the boat had. Would bet those hours are not true. Cannot tell from the pick, CC did have a basic cruise control which would be the smaller gauge with no display, RPM based, worked OK.

        Good Luck

Didn't see mention in the ad, boat has shower and looks like a heater vent at the helm below the dash. Looks like there is just (2) valves behind the drivers seat for ballast tanks, so probably just the 2 rear tanks.

Chris is right. You can see the little cruise gauge below the throttle area. Hard to say what the real hours are? They could be right, IF those gauges never failed. It does certainly look clean and not abused from the pics. Throw an offer at him, and see what sticks. All he can say is no. There should be a fellow PN member in Little Rock who could go check it out for you?

This looks like a good deal too, albeit in a far different price range. 20 hours and tired of the color already?

as everyone mentioned, the hours on those years are a guessing game. but judging from the pics they are obviously fairly low. i think it looks great and is a fair price.

that G is great lookin, in spite of the aftermarket advert they stuck on it up front ?!?

That G looks great! But it has the 409 and even if I could afford one I wouldn't touch it without at LEAST the 450. Ive heard that even the 450 isnt quite enough for that whale.

That could explain the quick flip on it. The 409 is pretty ideal for the 200, so I can imagine it's not quite up to snuff for the G.

If the gauges are in fact the teleflex digitalis, which they appear to be but can't assert with 100% accuracy without a close up pic, then the hours are probably correct as everyone replaced them with either faria garages or teleflex analogs. The teleflex digital gauges go bad from moisture getting in there and corroding the electronics, slowly they decay over time and eventually need to be replaced. If you turn the boat on and the gauge is hard to read due to some of the lines not displaying that would indicate they are original.

My first nautique was a 2001 super sport which I bought in 2005 used with 68 hours. At the time the gauges worked (mostly) and then after several more years and about 150 or so additional hours the gauges were becoming unreadable. So it's quite possible the gauges are okay at this point and hence were never switched.

Best thing to do is try and get the ownership history to confirm with prior owners on the hours as well as to ask why the hours are so low. I would be more concerned that the boat was used for 2 years and then sat in storage for a decade...

                      Hope this helps,
