I laughed when I saw this thread, I thought it had to be a joke.

You could always look at the Sport 200

I have been in a boat with the 409 hp G23. That sucker took a long time to plane! Not sure what the top speed was but, the time to plane was annoying to me enough, that i said no to the 409.

here's a random: i have a friend who likes to waterski behind my 230. He was jumping the wake and it was all fun and games, until he broke the ski. what happened next was ugly.

      good luck!
I agree. FWIW, you could find a late model, low hours SV211, plumb in some extra fat sacks, and have a really good tri-purpose boat for skiing, boarding and surfing (Along with an extra $60k-$80k still in your pocket).

Maybe his idea of skiing is just riding in a straight line behind the boat. If so im sure it would be just fine for that. It's not going to rip the handle out of your hands with a hole shot like a DD ski boat but I'm sure it would pull someone up.

If you have a good health plan you may be fine.

Ive been in a 2012 230 pulling someone 34mph @ 22' & 28' off. Lets just say..at the end of her passes she said she'll never slalom behind another tugboat. The wake wasnt that large but it was hard, still had a kick to it and much different than a 200 or 197.

I had a friends get up on one ski and slalom behind my 210 at about 32 mph and said they actually liked it just fine.

Exactly what these forums are for! We are by no means hardcore slalom skiers. On the Colorado river its very narrow and to our ability we don't cut very much. Just leisurely ski sometimes. My last boat was a 28 ft Howard Sport deck with a Teague 800hp in it. I know very little about boats with under 800hp. That's why I joined to learn about this stuff. My kids and friends are getting better at wakeboarding behind a 236 Chaparral. I've had it a year or so, now its time to step up to a real wake boat. I was just hoping to be able to sell two boats, not just one before I purchased a new one. Just learning today that the G23 won't fit in my garage while sitting on trailer. Measured 9.5.

I'm was a slalom skier until I bought my 230 two years ago. For recreational skiing it is OK, but with a good hard cut the wake is hard, even with an empty boat. Let's just say when the ski leaves the water its not fun at all. My guess is the G would be the same or worse. Get your dealer to give you a pull and try it out.

Are you worried about height? If so, check out the attached document. With the tower down (and it is way easy to put down), it'll go in a 9.5' door.

I have a 2011 230 and can lay it down on both sides with no hesitation over the wake. I ski at 36 mph. Of Course, I learned behind 1977 25 foot sea ray and perfected my craft behind a Bare2001. Phil at Buxton has sold me four nautiques and he told me it was doable.

I am curious though if it'll ride between the boat guides of a slalom course now

I'm understanding that it was a dumb question to some people. I just wanted the best boat out there for a wake boat. I knew nothing about Natique until this past week. Or any wake boat for that matter. I've only seen pics. My neighbor skiis behind a master craft x-2 all the time at the river and his son wake boards behind it. At 120k, which won't be financed, I was hoping to get rid of my 2001 Carrera Elite so I wouldn't have to have a ski boat too! I am dumber than most people and own 4 boats currently. Not a single one being a wake boat! I really appreciate everyone's info!
