The only thing that I forgot to put on my list was to check out the trailer brake controller on that F150 before I hooked it up. Every time I squeezed the paddles on it a message would come up "Trailer Disconnected" and it never activated the brakes. Has anyone had any experience on a 2012 f150 with a factory TBC hooked up to a boatmate trailer? Am I missing something to get it working?

when you squeeze brake controller the truck is looking for a connection to the electric brakes (12v) on the sixth pin of the wire harness witch is not used on our trailers due to the fact that they are "surge brakes".
you have no problems. just make sure your backup lights come on the trailer in reverse so that the trailer solinoid can be activated for backing up.2016 G23

The trailer tongue will probably have a mechanism in it that senses when the trailer is pushing against your truck(hitch) and there will be a couple of small hydraulic lines that go back to one or both axles on your trailer, the harder you jam the brakes on in your truck, the harder your trailer pushes against your truck, and the harder the hydraulic brakes squeeze! They usually work really well, it seems like you don't lock up the brakes ever like with electric ones. Seems like lots of boat trailers use these, is it because they are constantly getting dunked in the water?

Boat looks familiar! Nice color choices! Is that Red metal flake?
I have an F150 also. You can convert the trailer from surge brakes to e-brakes for about $1k. I had it done on my last trailer when I lived in Denver (e-brakes in the Colorado mountains were AWESOME!) Now I live on a lake and my boat rarely gets towed anywhere, so there's no need to convert the new trailer.
Here is the PN boat from last year (which I own now).

That isn't just black vents. Nautique was cool and gave me the option to get the "Byerly Stripe" even though it isn't a Byerly Edition. That whole black top stripe is pretty unique to that boat. I only know of one other boat that has it that isn't a Byerly.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.
