Also if you ever have a coke spill on the carpet or anykind of brown spot on anything, peroxide will most likely get it out.
Of course, with any cleaner, test it for colorfastness on an out of the way spot.
Great idea, another oxygen bleach, but definately mild in the 5% over the counter solution!

Alot of the cleaners we sell in my business have peroxide boosters in them to remove coke, coffe and mold/mildew spots. Its a new trend in cleaners lately.
I have used straight over the counter Peroxide on clothes to remove coffee stains and food stains for awhile now and it seems to be strong enough to get the job done very easily. Also if you spray it straight onto mold and mildew in your shower it bleaches it right out.
So it should work on the vinyl and carpet in a boat.

Also, if you search around, you can buy mold inhibitors that you can treat the interior of your boat with before you store it. It keps mold and mildew from growing and its safe for any surface.

Just stay away from the threads w/ the bleach; it will dissolve them eventually. If bleach is used, mix w/water like a 4 to 1 or 3 to 1 ratio AND rinse right away w/ water. It can remove the protectant finish.

I wonder if you could mix a little of the mold inhibitor in the 303 Protectant? Be kinda nice to apply it on an ongoing basis.

Was the shrinkwrap vented properly? Because the only way I've seen a bad mildew problem is not venting the shrinkwrap properly. But all are good suggestions, have tried most cleaners but you will not get all of the discoloration out of the vinyl.

I'm not sure if you can mix it with 303..I doubt it though. Mold inhibitor is meant to be applied after the surface has been cleaned. It is only effective after it has dried on the surface, you just spray it on and let it dry.... After the application, once the surface has been cleaned the inhibitor will be washed away and will need to be reapplied. Thats why I would only suggest it to be applied before a long storage. And it should be effective indefinately untill it gets washed or cleaned off.

We used to sell the stuff but now we dont, I'm not sure why, I need to find out though.

Having looked through Overtons yesterday. I see they have quite a few products designed to remove mold and mildew from vinyl.

                  Cheers

I live in SW FL where mold is a constant problem. I have been using Marykate Mold & Mildew remover for years on my 90 Sport Nautique along with 303 Protectorant. The vinyl looks like the dayI bought the boat 15 years ago.
Marykate products (also Star Brite has a similar product) are available at West Marine or Boat US. There is also a new product on the market (can't remember name) that is sprayed on and supposedly limits the formation of mold.

Always used spic and span on my old boat for 15 years with no problems. However, I just picked up my new Nautique (oh yeah!) and the have a detailed list of "do's & don't's. Of course, spic & span is on the don't list. My dealer recommended Mequiar's vinyl & rubber cleaner & conditioner #57 for the tough stains (like mildew) followed by 303 aerospace protectant. I personally haven't tried any of these suggested products, just passing along the recommendation. Good luck! As previously posted, ventilation during prolonged storage is usually key to avoid mildew.
