    Best crossover Nautique?

Looking for our first family boat. I grew up skiing but haven't been on a ski in 10 years. My family is just now learning. We want a good recreational ski boat but one that is good for wakeboarding too. If my nearby extended family comes to the lake with us, there would be 8 adults, 5 kids. On a regular basis, there would probably be 2 - 4 adults, 2 kids. So, I would like the best crossover, with the maximum number of seats (with good seat layout). Yes, I'm looking for the perfect family cruising, ski, and wakeboard boat. Haha. Love Nautique but would be open to Malibu or Mastercraft. Suggestions? Thank you.

What is your price range? Is your first choice a V-Drive or Direct Drive?

I have 220 and love it so off course i biased but it has plenty of room for 12 adults. Good ski, wakeboard, and surf wake. And should be able to find a nice 07 or 08 in that price range.

Don't overlook this important question to help you set realistic expectations. If you'll need a lot of room for guests and gear, I would think V drive. If 'going to the lake' means a weekend stay at the vacation property and not every person and guest being on-board at once, and the slalom wake is of primary imprtance, then look for a direct drive. Just my opinion.

The best true crossover would be the 200V hands down, but I don't know if it would meet your size criteria? Talk to jaybird, as he has a gorgeous one for sale, and could give you good insight.

I think the 200v would be perfect but I don't know if used they are down to 55k. However for everything you just said you wanted I would try and find the $ for a 200v.

We routinely have 4 adults and 5 kids in a 94 pro star and have "enough" room, I expect similar numbers in my 206 to be common place. A 200v would feel alot bigger with the v drive.

Do yourself a favor and price 200v before you buy anything.

jaybird has his marked down to $55,900. Not sure if that includes the trailer or not, but it's certainly worth contacting him. The 200V is one amazing boat!

I think the 211 might be another good option and you would have no problem finding a nice one well under budget.

I don't think a 200V would be remotely close to meeting your hauling needs, probably not even the 211 (I have one of those). The only thing I know of that might be able to accommodate your request would be the Malibu 247. I have heard they make freakishly small wakes for such a big boat however I have never been behind one. I would recommend one of the larger motors as well. Some I/O's also offer a bit of flexibility, consider a Chaparral if you can live without surfing?

I do not think anything in either the M/C or Nautique lines would meet your needs/constraints. The 247 is also within your budget limits.

the 211 would be great but max's out at 9 officially or 10 unofficially depending on kid mix. I would be looking at a 220 or 226 but this comes at a ski wake cost. The best advice is always go try the boat. Only you can determine what's good enough. But for a good ski wake either go 211, 200v, or a direct drive.

When you say your kids are just learning are you talking about skiing or starting water sports in general; wake boarding, skiing, wake surfing. If you think your kids are going to lean towards wake boarding and wake surfing I would without a doubt go with a larger nautique like SkiTower mentioned. But if you want a good ski wake your going to have to sacrifice size for the most part. And I wouldn't even consider a MC.

sante 210, kids are gonna be behind the boat more and most kids aren't into skiing.

I agree, and like skiTower said, you should look in to a 226/220. They are basically the same boat and Im sure if you got going fast enough with the Hydro-Gate set to cruise mode the ski wake would be good enough if you are just a recreational skier. I would say though to avoid 230/236 if you are interested in skiing, they have FANTASTIC wake board/surf wakes but the ski wake is pretty bad.

I had a 2009 Crossover 216v and we loved it. It was discontinued a couple years after the 200v arrived on the scene. It was roomier than the 200v and was a respectable crossover boat. That said, it maxed out at 12 people and that would be a crowd.

Perhaps the Sport Nautique 226 would fit your needs? Could probably find one used in your budget.

Good luck with your choice, as they are all fabulous boats!
