Getting the itch - Linc or no Link?

Really thinking about finally pulling the trigger on a 200v. If you have one, do you have linc or not? Would you prefer to have the other option? I like the old school gauges and the zero-off location of the no linc boats, but also think linc would be a pretty cool option.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

I had the same dilemma. I also came from a 92 direct drive, and thought alot about the longevity and maintainability of the linc system vs the standard gauges. I ended up getting a 200V with the Linc. Love it! If you have not spent time in a boat with the Linc, you cant imagine all it does. A month after I had it, I was still discovering things about it. But, time will tell how reliable it is.

My 2010 230 had both and I liked that option. I wish the still offered both.
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
          2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)

The Linc is awesome. It adds a ton of functionality to the boat.

I have a 200V on order with the Linc. I seriously considered skipping it but ended up ordering the team edition which includes it. I do have concerns about its durability but figured I'd give it a shot. I was very impressed with it when I had a chance to play with it. Hard to deny the gauges are the more proven technology though.

Glass cockpits have been around a long, long time, so I wouldn't be too concerned with the reliability.

True but they are typically enclosed in a cockpit and not exposed to the elements. I spend a considerable portion of my life operating a helicopter in a corrosive environment. For the most part it's ok but water intrusion is our biggest enemy. A little bit of water can ruin a lot of electronics. I'm admittedly banking on them being reliable though. It seems well sealed from water and unless its raining it shouldn't get too wet where it's located.

I hope Linc is more reliable than the keypads.

We have Linc in our 2012, I had the opportunity to drive a 2012 200v that did not have linc last summer for an afternoon and they are 2 totally different boats. The functionality of the linc over a standard instrument set up is amazing. I couldn't wait to get out of that boat. I had all the same concerns with the linc as everyone else when ordering our boat but I am so glad we went the team route.

If you don't opt for linc you wont be able to retrofit NSS "IF" thats a big if they ever release it on the 200V. Could hurt resale. But you will get all the creature comforts of a TE with that.

Who knows by then they may have a system for boats not equipped with Linc.

I had reservations. I love mine. If it breaks ill get another. I love to hate electronics but I love this one.
