    Agreed- the ultra-wide angle is not good for being more than a few feet away- this is how I got mine close to the action: (although I did not want to wreck and see how the whole rig held together so I took it pretty easy)

      I bought an open box hd camcorder at best buy after christmas....for 85 bucks. complete w/all the gear and battery. It was a lucky day.

        Pardon the Supra towboat, but we had some cool GoPro angles in this compilation...as you can see- the tower mounted camera is good only as a supplement to the main cameras that are on the rope or in a tube:
