what I am working on today
I usually grap the bow cushion and sit on it to cruise around on the river. I decided to recreate one so that the ladies could still use the front as their bed...
how I roll in the summertime (*with more water and less garage)
what I want to copy
tracing the outline
designing the curve
yes, golf tees, steel wire and imagination. you remove the one on the bottom and trace it with a pencil
how I cut the rough shape
worked like magic
rough shape, fitting session
fits pretty good.
now let's make it perfec-ish. 8" Richard Floor Scraper blade+vice grips+ torch...and a small dose of redneck
you can see the process, the freshly cut VS the rough cut
some more fitting
let's cut some plywood to go underneath the 2" foam
didn't have marine plywood at the shop but I had some fiberglass resin... sanded the edges and went to work
glassed both sides + the edges so I had to improvise..
what's left to do: Use styrofoam glue (what we use to stick it to the foundation) to glue the foam to the glassed plywood
more to come, upholstery to be done by the same guy who is gonna redo some of my cushions.
so far I am pretty excited about it. we'll see how it turns out.

We're expecting a decent amount of snow today..
I have mixed feelings about this crappy weather. I like the fact that I still got time to finish my project. On the other hand, I can't bring it to the garage for the mechanical maintenance. I don't feel like putting the interior (rear bench, hatch etc) back together before that's done..

they said my alternator is on its last miles, it's whinning.
how easy is it to change and where can I find one (100amp to upgrade) ? I searched a few threads but couldn't find any info. couldn't find the part on nautiquepart.com either... help!

Have you looked into having the alternator rebuilt? I am pretty sure you can upgrade the amperage during the rebuild. I don't have any experience with this but I believe I have heard of people doing this on here before.Shawn

OK.... I know this is a old post post but since we all were talking about the wakemakers kits on here I would pose my question with it... So the rear plumbed bags work like a charm. For the front bag I pulled the overflow hose and connected it to the front bag so when the tank fills then then it will overflow in the bag, and it does pretty well. The only head scratcher I have is once the front bag starts filling, water will flow out of the through hull fitting that is connected to the tank drain pump..... So I'm confused... Anyone that has plumbed the front bag like I did have the same happen... Now it all will fill juts fine and drain just fine, just not sure why it would flow out the drain port.... any thoughts???Last edited by G; 06-10-2013, 07:34 AM.
