    1997 Air Nautique

Hey guys, I am looking to purchase my first Nautique. I was hoping for some expert knowledge and help. Below is the link for the boat I am possibly buying. Can you tell me what I should start my negotiations with, as well as does anyone know if this model has had any problems anyone has heard of? Any advice would help. Looking to close on it in two weeks.

I see this is a direct drive boat and so I have a question about how you'd be using the boat: towing skiers or wakeboarders?

That is actually a sport nautique. I own that exact year and model. Very happy with it. Decent for slalom skiing. Good for surfing if you weigh it down enough. Great wake boarding boat. Great crossover DD IMHO.

Main purpose would be wakeboarding. I have some Fat sacs that i'd add to the bow and ski locker. I also would be using for skiing as well. My current boat is a Bryant I/O and getting someone up on one ski takes forever, and once weighted down for wakeboarding performs poorly. I was thinking I should be able to get this for around 14-15k. What do you think?

I watch the market pretty closely and I see this being a 15k boat. If it was a GT-40 motor with FCT-2 tower it would be 17.5k. Looks to be in good condition otherwise and there really are not a lot of good used boats on the market right now in this year range. This boat will hold its value pretty well if you decide you want to upgrade on down the road. Good luck man

Talk to Zach at N3, he will give you a no BS sales pitch. The 97' will be a very good all around boat, it does look by the pics to be very nice.

            Good Luck.

You will be happy with the power even with fat sacs compared to the IO. It'll throw a great wakeboard wake for that era of boat too. There is no comparison at how fast it will pull you out of the water on one ski compared to your IO. With one or two in the boat I think the slalom wake was softer than my old PS 190. It is taller but softer.

Thanks Quinner! That is a boat we sold originally to the current owner and it is in consignment. It has the rare apex motor that screams. 53-5400 rpm WOT on the river. Michael is good at covering everything you need to know in the video and if you need to know more just give us a ring. Should be something for you you can just hop into and run. If you've already talked to Michael then lets make it happen!

Hey Zach- Should have time tomorrow to talk with Michael more in depth and get all the numbers down - after that I'll be talking with Debbie. Pretty excited for my first DD/Nautique. Thanks everyone for all your useful comments, I greatly appreciate it.

It will be nothing like your Bryant. You will look at boating in a whole new way.

That air will feel like a gokart with 600 hp to you compared to your Bryant! Did you get a chance to get with Michael?
