PN Team- Days away from purchase. Tried to read up on all the G23 threads in the forum before posting..... seems to be lots of them on colors. Looks like it'll be mostly black with some yellow BTW. I surf 90% of the time..currently in a Malibu 247, throws a MONSTER surf wake crushing it..... but would like to do it level and I think the G23 can bring this to the next level. Has anyone slammed a NSS G23 with additional 750s - 1100s in the trunks + factory ballast? Any issues with waves swamping and coming over the transom coming off plane when sac'd out? I've seen the Nautique NSS videos... are there any other NSS G23 surf pics or videos out there? Any issues with bow rise and visibility at 11mph sac'd out? Any surfing exhaust issues? Any swim platform digging into the wave messing it up issues? Thanks in advance! Ryan

Do not have NSS yet. But a few thoughts.
Wave will easily come over transom if suddenly stop when ballasted.
Surf wake tall and good push but very short. NSS suppose to lengthen.
Bow rise not a problem IMO when surfing.
I love my G23 but would not buy one if I mostly surfed. Compared to you LSV, I think you will be dissappointed in surf wave.
Again, this is surfing a heavily weighted G23 without NSS.

Don't even have my G yet (another few weeks), but done plenty of reading. If you mostly surf, I agree with vision...why get a G23? There's no evidence that I've read/seen anywhere that the G23 makes the best surf work. I continually hear of several other models that produce the absolute best surf wake. I realize its subjective and there is no ONE answer, but I have yet to hear an educated opinion that the G23 is the best surf wake on the market.
We surf <5% of the time, yet I still got the NSS. Why? I see us possibly surfing 10-20% of the time if we don't have to spend 20 minutes draining and filling between wakeboarding and wakesurfing...not to mention some of us are goofy and some regular which add another 5-7 minutes to swapping sides.
Bottom line: I wouldn't purchase a boat being advertised as the best wakeboard boat ever made if I surfed 90% of the time.
Good luck with your decision,

I'm with the guys above, I too have a Malibu 247 and have just ordered a G23. (to be delivered in June but thats another story) The 247 surf wake is the best I've seen though I have NOT been behind a Nautique with or without NSS. We surf about 40% of the time but with the ease of NSS I'd imagine that will go up some. I'm tired of waiting FOREVER to fill up enough sacs to slam one side in the water and then drain it, and forget the rare goofy foot rider! I do that once per day and I'm done waiting that long just for a few minutes for a goofy footer! (no offense goofy riders!) I too did a ton of research or at least as much as I can find and there are those that saying that after a certain point (maybe beyond factory ballast) more weight will not help the surf wake with NSS. There is a trade off somewhere. I think we will know more once more of the NSS boats get on the water and start dialing things in. I'm not expecting to be blown away with the wake itself only that switching from wakeboarding to surfing and from side to side will take seconds not an hour!
Btw, I think I'm going with some black and yellow as well, tossing in the light gun metal main stripe for a kicker!

Sold my 247 and my g25 goes into production 3/21. We just started surfing and for me and my family, the added features, storage and perceived quality drove the switch more so than whether the wake was a smidgen better for surfing/boarding etc. my kids aren't that good to notice but we will enjoy the other aspects every time we go out. Touring factory first week in April when our boat should be coming off line.

Guys, thanks for the candid feedback, much appreciated. Long story short, I think very few folks really know how to dial a boat in for wakesurfing. It takes time, trial and error. Coming from the 247 I am a surf snob... But I think the NSS G23 has the potential to beat them all. But based on your feedback I will do an on water test tomorrow AM! I will take pics! Expect brutally candid feed back. I realize it will be stock ballast only... But if it's there the further potential will be evident.
One more question... Option sheet says "trailerable" cover. Is it really trailerable at 75mph without scratching the sides? The only true trailerable covers I know of are Evolution covers.... Lots of them call themselves trailerable but are not.2019 G23 450

Everyone is saying the 230 with NSS is the crowd favorite for just surfing.
As for swamping the transom Mark said fully weighted in our stock 13 23 there was virtually no stern roller when letting off the throttle at surf speed. His video showed him with his feet hanging just above the platform in socks. No wet feet.
Look at the pictures Jeff just posted of surfing behind his 23 with no NSS yet, then go watch nss videos. NSS lengthens and shapes the surf wake a large ammount.Zach@n3boatworks.com

ok here's a link to a 2013 G23 NSS @ 10.9 mph with factory ballast as described in the video. Its a brand new boat, light load, 2 folks, no gear and prob very little fuel. would LOVE to see this same video with the boat slammed with 1100s in each of the rear trunks. Lots of potential here. http://flic.kr/p/e36epN2019 G23 450
