Thanks James. Got some final pics today. It's all done and will be on its way to NC shortly. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out though I think it will look even better in the water.
JRZ- amazing boat brother. In repayment for the constant tease since you started the thread, you can repay all of us with some good I water wake and surf pics and a write up on your thoughts as to how it performs. I spent a few mins in one and left a pool of drool behind. Gorgeous boat, enjoy!
Will do my best. Looking for trailer now so I can get it in for sound system tweaking when I get it. My family is not a cold water family so it will likely be a little while until the little boogers want to get in the water but I'm sure we'll have it out on the water sooner just for a test drive. Will get some good video for everyone. My 2011 Malibu 247 was picked up by its new owner this past Wednesday so I'm boatless for the next couple of weeks.
I'm blown away how fast those guys put that boat together, and your awesome hook up at the factory with the play by play!! Amazing boat, looking forward to seeing it on a trailer.
Thanks. Color combo was not an original idea. Think that picture at beginning of my post was a boat that was ordered by one of the Nautique team riders though I could be wrong. I just copied it after I saw that pic. Have an aluminum Load Rite trailer ordered and should be here about same time as boat. $3K cheaper than a roughly equivalent painted trailer from Boat Mate though it was spec'd with 2 colors and the bow steps which mine won't have. Once I get it, it's off to Mike's Liquid Audio.......
Right now thinking of replacing stock polks with wetsounds and new wetsound amp then adding one pair of REV10's with amp (I'm 6'4" so don't want them hanging all the way across) and trying to come up with really good sub (not sure what we're doing there yet). Will do a 420 and looking into some extra LED lighting. Any other suggestions?
I am 6'1".. and refuse to mount speakers where I will be bumping my head....and if you hang them from anywhere along that top bar you will likely hit your head at some point. I just had a set of Rev10s installed on mine... just above the swivel racks, mounted from the tower sides using the WS swivel mounts..... they had to turn the racks upside down to make them work, 1" clearance above the racks. Only trade off is I can't put a wakeboard boots up in my top rack slot...wakeboards would have to be boots down in the bottom slot f the racks. Result is they are tucked in tight off to the sides, I'll never bump my head. No consequence for me with loosing wakeboard rack space... we surf 90% of the time, you can still put surfboards in those top rack slots. Also, highly recommend you look at the Exile ZLD over the 420. I have ran both, ZLD far superior in ergo, use and functionality... and its cheaper. I'm gonna mount mine at my right knee under dash when in driver's seat. spent about an hour in my boat today taking measurements... and thinking about a real sub setup and where to put more batteries without going over the top $$ wise..... NOT impressed with the clarion HU. No 3.5mm jack(got get an iphone USB or go RCA--->3.5mm adapter, no BT. audio controls and adjustments not overly impressive with the HU. If it wasn't for the transom remote and using it a lot at party cove I would toss the Clarion out all together and replace with the ZLD only.
