Hello I am new to the forum. We are up in trinity lake california. Right now we have a 1991 sport nautique but feel an upgrade is needed. We have located a 2003 nautique limited 226. Is this a boat we could be happy with? It's low hours and owned by a nautique guy. How's the surf wake on it? Is 30 a good price? Thanks mike . Found a couple super air and air nautique for less but they do seem a little smaller. Thanks

I don't have any experience with the 226 but it was billed as a crossover/family boat when it came out. I have heard the surf wave can get pretty good on it. Here is a thread abut weighting a 226 for surfing: http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...26-for-surfing The 95-06 Super Air/Super Sport/210 will have an excellent wakeboard wake and it is surfable but takes some weight and trial and error to get it dialed so that you are not surfing extremely close to the platform. If your lake gets rough you will probably appreciate the big water handling of the 226. I upgraded from a 91 Sport to a Super Air/Super Sport/210 last year and that alone feels like a much bigger boat with lots more storage and the 226 is quite a big bigger than that.Shawn

Does the 226 have a good wakeboard wake, we do both about equal but like the low impact wake surfing. I was kinda set on the 226 but like the looks of the 210 better. I have only road a few boats 2007 wake setter, 1997 Sanger, and my 1991 sport nautique so I really don't have a real good personal experience with to many boats.

We just traded our 226 te in on a 220. I loved that boat handles rough water great and has plenty room. Only issue for me was that I wanted a new boat with snap in carpet. I just like the ability to wash it out and I think the hulls are more solid on those boats. 226 is a great surf boat not sure about wake boarding.

Michael, are you currently adding any ballast to your 91 Sport? The 91 has a great steep wake that only gets better with more ballast. It is comparable in shape to the 210 but the 210 gets much bigger with ease. If you were riding the 91 with little or no additional ballast then I would imagine the 226 would work well for you with the factory ballast and maybe a little more on top. If you are riding the 91 with lots of additional ballast (ie 1200+ lbs) then you are probably not going to like the 226 and would be happier in a 210 if wakeboarding wake is the most important factor. I have never ridden behind a 226 so just going off what I have read but I am very familiar with the 1st generation Sport and Legacy 210.Shawn

We add about 500 to 800 pounds with our current nautique. It is fun great wake I can do big wake to wake 180s on it. It wake boards nice even tho it only has a pole thing. But wake surfing is where it lacks . It seems like you need a vdrive to really wakesurf. The guy who is selling the 226 is a pro sponsored wakesurf rider, but for that kind of money I really a best of both worlds boat. Not much info out there on the 226. Thanks for your help guys.
