    2012 210 sante tower adjustment

Can you adjust the tension on the 2012 210 tower so it holds the weight of the speakers easier? I was watching this video on the supra sa350:

And when he was talking about the tower (Also designed by roswell, and looks a lot like ours) He said you can adjust the tension on the tower. Mine is super heavy with the speakers and bimini . . . I can handle it, but it would be nice to take the weight off so others can.

I think there might be something up with yours. mine is pretty easy to lift. my wife can lift it without trouble and she is weak at lifting stuff. now the 12 full ironman races she has done are a different story.

there has to be a way to get to the internal spring and adjust for more tension when the tower is up.

The Roswell built towers have a long compression spring inside the tower tude. You can access an adjustment nut inside and compress the spring more to create more counter resistance to the weight of the tower and options. There is an instructional video that the dealer can access that takes them through a step by step process. I don't know if they make it accessible to customers, because it is not as simple as tightening a nut with a socket (disassembly is required).
The new towers supplied by Diamondback have a gas shock inside the foot that can be changed from 350, 400, 450 psi.

          Thanks PZTHK!

I decided to try and get away from my dependence upon PN for all my info and called Roswell, Ben over there was super helpful and sent me this .pdf with instructions in case anyone else was ever curious.

I think since they are all factory installed speakers and racks the dealer should handle it. I don't like that it will come crashing down if I release both levers without a hand on it.

Regardless of spring tension or tower design when releasing a towers retaining hardware or cam latch always be sure to support the towers weight with your opposite hand or have help to prevent any unexpected lower of the tower.
