So my wife and I recently found out that we will soon be adding a skier to the family! Our first. So of course the reasonable thing to do is get a bigger nautique. I'm a barefooter so my question is how big can I go and still get a good long line pull? Wake is not an issue as I usually stay outside anyway. But speed will be a must. 210?

210 may not get you the speed you need. Upper thirties is tops with a 343.

They should run quite a bit faster than that without the power prop.
The guys ran the bucket head barefoot race a few seasons ago with 375 or a 409(I forget what year the boat was) 210.Zach@n3boatworks.com

I'm not a barefooter, but the only way I can see a crossing the wake of a v-drive would be via a tumble turn! Get a demo pull behind the boat before you switch from a DD. A friend of a friend has a 200V that seems to work for one of the guys in his crew that's a hard core barefooter. Not sure what engine it has, I think he was footing in the high thirties.

Scott,
I was in the same boat as you, no pun intended....
we foot early in the am, then the kids come out to wakeboard and surf etc. I love to foot.
the 210, has plenty of umph, I weigh 195 and have plenty of mph with the ex343. as you can see in this video, the wake is crossable, but is a challenge, but can be done.
here is a video, if you skip forward a bit you can see the 210 with no ballast at barefoot speed.

I took a 230 out last week and footed behind it. same pull, but wake at barefoot speed had a sharp edge, still crossable, but you better be ready for a butt check just in case. but still possible.
if I were to pick, and barefooting was the priority, I would take a hard look at the 200. but if family, wakeboarding, surfing, etc come first, and barefooting is a one of a bunch of events you guys will be doing, in my opinion, the 210 works perfect for me in that capacity.
just my 2 cents.sigpic
