Carpet or No Carpet

I'm looking at a newer Nautique, probably something in the 2007+ range (210 or 220). My current Sport Nautique has carpet in it. I see many of the newer Nautiques with removable carpet. Personally I lean towards not having carpet in there at all. My dad had a 14.5' Sea Doo boat with carpet and it was so easy to clean. Also, it didn't get the musty smell. The only negative was occasional scuff marks on the white textured gel coat. Are there any problems with leaving out the removable carpet (slipping)?

Get one with removable carpet, remove it, and add SeaDek.

mf01 - I ran zero carpet atleast half the time in my 2008 210 and I had zero problems with slipping. The white gel underneath has "traction"/texture added to it so I don't think slipping would be much of an issue for you. Downside to carpet is that it gets waterlogged/soggy/stays damp for a long period of time....reason why a lot of others are going for SeaDek from what I've heard.

Pulled out the carpet on day 1 and been carpetless ever since. Boat is much cleaner(aesthetically & literally) without the carpet. Keeps the boat cool on the hot days and very easy to cleanup at the end of the day.
zero slip as the floor is textured as Andrew mentioned.

In my 2010 I took the carpet out after the first year and didn't have any issues with slipping. The worse thing was stepping on the snaps, so I removed them too. I'm looking forward to the Sea Dek in the G. The carpet had a great look but was to hard to keep clean in the ugly TX lakes.

I like the look of the carpet...Bought a new set end of last season. The new carpet does not have the black foam water absorbing stuff on the back. So hopefully will dry much better.
