    What year 210 can I expect for $40k - $45k?

What year 210 can I expect for $40k - $45k? Friend in the midwest is looking for a 210 as his first boat but has a budget.

Also, think he might prefer the new hull design so his little kids will earn on the rampy style wake -- is the budget sufficient for the new hull design?

Can anyone describe the differences between the pre '08 wake and interior as compared to the new hull? TIA

was looking on WhiteLake web site under used boats they had two 210 2008 for sale, both were over 50,000,so if you could find private sale maybe high 40, but I'm just passing on information, I personally have no clue.

I know from experience (last summer) that you can get a good condition (not great) 2008 sante 210 for low $40's. Avg hours, not low.

As others have said you are pushing it a little trying to get into a new 210 at that price but I do see them come up under $45k every now and then. Both are great boat and you really can't go wrong. For that price range you are probably looking at an immaculate old 210 or new 210 with somewhat high hours and possibly in need of some cosmetic stuff.

There is some info in this thread talking about old 210, new 210s and 220s. http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...185#post199185

The wake on the old 210 has a trough that does not feel good on the old knees if you happen to land in it. The wake is steep and has a ton of kick on the top that boots you straight up. I have only been behind a new 210 once but they got rid of the trough and added some more ramp to the wake. It's a more natural take off as opposed to the abrupt straight up pop. Both great wakes and a lot of it is preference but the new 210 is going to be easier for beginners to get used to and then they can add more weight later. Plenty of people have learned on the old 210 so I wouldn't let the wake deter you from getting one but it can be a little bit intimidating for newbies.

The interior in the old 210 was a wrap around style until mid 2001. After that it became an L shape with the area behind the driver being left open. A Jump Seat fits well in this spot or some people have made sub boxes/coolers that go in that spot and used the same vinyl pattern as the other side to make it look like a factory wrap around. The new 210 has the wrap around seating and the very cool reversible stern seat. The new 210 is also quite a bit wider so it is much roomier boat than the old 210.

The old 210 used aerator pumps and valves for the ballast system that have some reliability issues. In 2006 they switched to the current Jabsco impeller pumps and that was carried over into the new 210. The impeller pumps are much better but it's not too hard or expensive to upgrade an aerator system to impllers.

BTW, 2007 was the first year of the new hull on the 210, but it had the one-year-only 220-style deck.

Would appreciate your opinions on the following boat. Fair market price? Yellow/White a popular combination? Thoughts about buying a boat over 1,000 miles away?

To be honest, I think that price is a little high for that boat. The listing doesn't say how many hours it has. Just from looking at the pictures it don't have any option other than what came with the Team Edition. The tower and carpet are both standard. It doesn't have a bimini or heater. Another thing I noticed is that it still has the old sano pads. I'm guessing the warranty is over and so you would have to change/upgrade it on your own dime. I used to have an 08 and we had that old style sano replaced every two seasons. It just gets so hard and brittle. The edges crack and become sharp. The last time we did it CC replaced with seadek and it is soooo much better. Just some observations.

Personally i think it is too much yellow, might have resale trouble...it kind of hurts my eyes.

An 08 210 with pretty much the same color scheme towed our recent North Island champs. The owner had also blacked out the dash & surround, hydrogate shift lever, tower speakers and installed a full throttle steering wheel which looked great! Here's the highlights vid with some good shots of the boat.

didn't see the price, but if its something that interest you start the dance! the price is only a start, ask questions and start the negotiation super low, you can always go higher but once you make that first offer you can't go lower::: if another boat comes up in the the horizon then you have something to compare with and also something in your back pocket if negotiations fail or the boat is not whats in print.
