    strainer bowl

does anybody have trouble getting their strainer bowl back on. it almost seems as if the threaded part on mine has expended and almost impossible to get the clear part started and threaded on correctly without cross threading it.
then when you do get it on right, it is pretty snug all the way to the end. you almost have to use an oil strap wrench to get it tight or loose.
the threads do not look damaged on either piece.

I have some trouble getting it started, but I dont recall it being that bad after that. I bought a new in the off season complete water strainer kit. I figured that way I get a new bowl and gasket and will save the body in case i need down the road.

I took mine off and could not get it back on. Set it aside, finished some other jobs, came back hours later and it went on the first try. I haven't tried it again. Frustrating little bugger.

A little silicone grease goes a long way. Non hardening and won't damage the plastic or the o-ring.

I put a small amount of vasoline on the threads. Holds the o ring in place too, less chance of losing that while dumping the contents.
