Need pics - SN 206 tower bimini's - making decision on which one to go with!

    Good morning folks,

I am back and forth on which style tower bimini to invest in - do I go with what I believe to be better looking and provide the most shade with an under the tower bimini or do I go with a nice over the top bimini and keep from hitting my head on it day after day!

I am now leaning towards going with an over the top version - and having a local canvas guy build it custom so that I can extend the front out to where I want it and get the rear of it out as far as I can without interfering with rope when it is used from the tower.

Pics of both and advise from all those that have been there before me is greatly appreciated! Factory Tower preferred in Pics pls.

    Loving my new 206!!!!
    Thanks!

    Dave

I want the most shade possible, and have had my last two under the tower.

Click on the link below you can see some pics of a tower bimini brand on a 206, under mount. They are pricey but worth every penny. Coverage is really great, no rattles or flapping, solid fit, quality hardware, somewhat easy to install/remove. IMO the over the top style look ridiculous and would not give you the amount of shade an under will. If you think you will add tower speakers at some point having the bimini below keeps them out of site and will protect from head bangin the speakers.

The under style can definitely be a head banger however it won't be the regular crew having an issue, it will become second nature to duck if/as required. Also found a friendly reminder to your guests will keep most of them from banging as well. The only time I ever banged my head was on the speaker when the bimini was not up, even guests rarely bang into it.

If you want to see more pics send me a PM with your email and I can forward you some.

I personally think the under mount styles look much better and they certainly provide much more shade. I only hit my head on the bimini once or twice but have smoked it on the tower speakers way more times when the bimini was not mounted and that hurts a lot more!

Does anybody know if TowerBiminis.com is a new site sponsor? I noticed the banner ad recently but haven't seen Jeff announce anything about it.

            Thanks Quinner!

Would love some more pics - specifically how it attaches to the tower. Does it clamp around the tower or is it drilled and screwed to the tower?

I will send you a PM - have heard your name read yours posts over at CCF - just spent some time with Reid P last week as I picked this 206 up in Charlotte and he mentioned you would be a good resource for info!! will shoot you a PM.
            Thanks!

I have same as Quinner's. The tower supports are clamped on. Here are some pics of the boat w/tower. I think I have some close ups of the clamps because i sent them to towerbimini (Mike?) when I had some questions. the boat came with a white top with a weird splash of yellow and blue. I bought a new canvas in the yellow which looked much better and high vis on the lake. It also blocks more son. The darker the canvas the more it blocks the sun....but they can get hot.

I'll look for the clamp photos...and would definitely buy the same cover again.

You can see the clamps in these photos. One on each side forward and aft.
