For those with a G23... What hydrohoist lift would you go with? 6600lbs? Or is that cutting it too close and go with the 8800lb lift?

Here is the best pic I can show of boat on lift with full tank of gas.

In all seriousness, I am not sure what the price difference is, but if getting the 8800 is not much more and your budget allows, it certainly can't hurt. My first boat was a Moomba XLV and the 6600 was a little overkill for it, however, now that I have the G23, I am glad I went with something larger.
If I needed more capacity, the pontoons can always be replaced with the larger ones (or an additional one since mine has room for a 3rd in between).

Sorry for jumping off topic, curious what the deal is with those huge floating marina's you see down south like in Lions pic. Are the slips typically owned or rented and what are the costs? Sounds like some include the lift or you can use your own. Definitely not what you typically see up north here other then Lake Michigan harbors.

I used to keep my Centurion ( 2800 lbs ) on a 4K HH lift. Tried to use the same one when we bought a new 210 ( 3800 lbs plus ) It would lift it, but it would sink down over time or if there was a lot of wind. Sold it and bought a 5K HH shallow water lift. The price does go up significantly as you move up in capacity.

We live in a gated neighborhood that contains upwards to 300 homes. As part of the construction of this neighborhood, they also got approval for 250ish slips for a private marina that is contained within the neighborhood. The way it works in our neighborhood is each homeowner is entitled to purchase a slip. My slip is purchased, it cost me around 30K at time of purchase of the home. Ownership of the slip is restricted to homeowners in the subdivision. Our homeowners dues cover the cost of re-positioning the docks, running water and electric as well as all dock maintenance.
When I sell the house, I also sell back the dock for the purchase price either to the homeowners association or new buyer of the home if they want it.
