I'm trying to figure what's the best surf setup for my boat I have all the stock tanks for that year and with one side full and belly tank filled an everyone on one side it's not to bad. With that said I'm trying to where everyone isn't crammed to one side. I'm thinking about just getting a bag that I could just move to either side. I would just like to get different suggestions. Anything helps

I would recommend getting a 400 LB v-drive or nautique wedge sack to go on top of the rear tank on the surf side. If I were you I would probably get a pair of the 400 lb v-drive sacs to put one in the rear locker and the other on the seats in the rear surf side of the main cabin when there are not many people in the boat. Some bow weight should help to lengthen the wave as well. You can move 1 or 2 people to the bow, they don't all need to be in the rear but unfortunately there isn't much you can do to get away from wanting everybody sitting on the surf side.Shawn

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Another quick question for the front I'm thinking about just getting some old 50lbs plates from a gym that's closing down. Have any of all done this and did you have problems with rust. I'm thinking about have a few bags sown together to try to waterproof it as much as I can. Any ideas

I haven't tried using gym plates in the boat but seeing how the old free weights in my garage rust I am sure they would rust in a boat. Maybe you could hit them with rustoleum and then maybe coat them with plastidip.Shawn

I weight my 04 with the surf side tank full, belly full, a 750 fat sack on the surf side (on the seat if port on the floor behind the driver if starboard), and 400lbs of lead weight in the bow (surf side). It really helped to get that weight upfront.
The lead weight I use is used wheel weights I got from a friend who owns a tire store. I put 40lbs into gallon sized ziplock bags, then wrapped the bags with 2 layers of duct tape, then put them in vinyl pouches that my wife made. I've used them 3 or 4 seasons and they are great, no mess. I'm sure you could do something similar to your free weights.19 SANTE 210

My setup for surfing is the rear stock tank full on surf side, a 440 lb wedge sac on top of it, stock center tank full, 440 lb wedge sac on surf side in the main campartment (either allong the port seating, or streached accross the jump seat and rear seat behind the driver), and a 600 lb locker sack on the bow seats offset to the surf side. This is the setup with only 1 or 2 people in the boat. I start deleteing water weight for people weight, normally starting the the 440 lb wedge sac in the main campartment.
I agree with hondaprlud, the weight in the bow really helped a lot.
My rub rail sit's pretty even with the watter, from bow to stearn.
