that is what I was going to do. one above the seam and one below. the one below would extend behind the platform. you would then have full protection2016 G23

Axeman - it looks great!! Matches perfectly with the transom and swim deck in my opinion. I will be ordering one this week. Now my question is what is covering your swim deck in that pick? Is that a swim deck cover? A cover for my swim deck was right after the transom saver on the wish list. Did your boat come with one or did you get Buxton to throw it in? I would like to have one on my swim deck even when riding so that board fins do not cut up my new SeaDek and scuff up the gel on the platform. My 210's platform looked like **** after several years of use and want to avoid that on this new 230. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the transom saver on my boat is the same as the G23s but I could be wrong. Yes, that is a swim deck cover. I don't think that you would want to keep it on while in the water though. It's made of the same material as the boat cover. If your fins are going to tear through sea dek they will definitely tear through that swim cover. Just don't let people stand up on the swim deck with their board on IMO.2016 Super Air Nautique 230 (sold)

Maybe I am not understanding the purpose of the transom saver. Is it to protect the gel on the transom or coordinate with the seadek on the platform? On the first pic there is a gap between the platform and the transom. Isn't that where the board will hit? There is no protection on the corners. The second pic is better as far as height but offers no protection for the corners where it is more likely to get hit when putting on the board.

I'm with Nautique Hunter. The bottom is the part the most prone to getting wacked with the board. In college all the dang wakeboarderswould smack my transom.
I want to work on a template for that lower section but haven't got the chance yet. Currrently waiting on a a shipment of more materials.Zach@n3boatworks.com

I agree with Hunter an Zach. I think both the upper and lower lips need protection from those dang wake boarders! Its not just wake boarders as I've had those pesky slalom guys whack my transom also!

I agree, which is why I haven't glued it to the transom yet.
That said, I imagine it might difficult to affix something properly since there isn't a lot of room below the lip (if you still want to be able to take the platform off). And this is precicely the area where most of the damage would occur.
In addition, a two part protector (for the upper and lower side) would still leave you with a good part of the damage along the lip.

I don't think there is a one piece solution for a 230 since it does have the lip. It has to be in pieces. I am considering more Sea Dek for the lower section.2016 Super Air Nautique 230 (sold)

I knew I would get some comments on the wakeboarder statement. haha. I used to get annoyed at college tournaments on the boats with fiber glass platforms. I would see all these brand new boats with black marks all over the edges of the platforms from skiers sliding off on the glass. Comon it isn't teak be careful with it.
Hopefully I will get some templates made up this week or next for the lower parts of the 230 and 210. I have an entire Kayot deck boat to cover in Seadek so that will take a little time as well.
Just had my boat in the river last night after I did hoses, belts, fluids, impeller, and a new choke. Only had one leak at the RWP because the front housing was rusty so I took it back apart. Felt good to be moving down some water though!
