ACME 2249 Performance on a 450 G23

OK, so I chose to try the 2249.... to replace the OEM 2313..... my rationale was it is the exact same specs as the 1235, only 1/2" bigger... thinking this would be the 15" equiv of the stump puller 1235. Bottom line: NOT as much hole shot as the OEM 2313, but, a full 4mph faster at WOT at 42MPH at 5625 RPM. Fully loaded OEM 3 tank ballast...verified all 3 tanks full, peed out the overflows, NCRS at 5, 76% fuel, relatively light gear on board, bimini in stowed position, 1 Mucus IS in the racks, 2x 200lb men. Average on 5 runs 0-23MPH full OEM ballast was right at 19 seconds, I would estimate 3+ seconds slower than the 2313. If as heavy as you will go is OEM ballast and no more over that, and you have long cruise runs and want to run 30MPH to and from your spots, this would be a great prop for you. If you wanna go heavier than OEM ballast either to 23mph or for wakesurfing, probrably not the right prop for you.

The 2249 prop should be an upgrade on the 550hp G23's coming with the 2247 that has the 0.150 cup correct? Have you guys that run the 2313 and 2315 props noticed a nice difference with the drop in cup size? Looking for a spare prop for our 2247 stock prop.

I went with the 2315 for my G23 550hp. I havent tried it out yet (it is my spare and the stock works great with full ballast, extra surf ballast and ten people in the boat), but I imagine I will soon.

The 2315 is pretty aggressive for the 550. I tried it out and was redlining at about 23-24 mph with about 6000 pounds of ballast. It will do in a pinch as a back-up, with just stock ballast.

Yes, the 2249 is the next step if you want a more aggressive prop for the 550. I'm trying out the 2313 in the next few days, but my gut tells me that will still be too aggressive.

Iron-I don't have it anymore...FYI I experienced 2 seconds faster to 2ph fully sac'd out by dropping cup from .150 to .105.

my reccomendation to you: send your prop to Nettles or one of the others and have them adjust your prop to 13 pitch and keep the .150 cup. $50.

Iron I have the 2313 and i live at elevation but it pulls hard it's a nice prop although i would like to get a little more at the top. What is your experience with the 2247?
I was going to try that prop to see what ti does. Can you give me details on how it performs. Us up here at elevation are having a hard time deciding what the best prop is for the 550 engine. I have talked with ACME and they have proposed different props and i have been trying them out. the stock prop was the 1235 which slipped a lot so i didn't like it, the 2313 doesn't slip at all but has incredible hole shot so i am going to try the 2247 unless you think 2249 would be better. Let me know your thoughts thanks.

Yes true, i really like the 2313 and it has plenty of hole shot so i could sacrifice a little hole shot for a little more top end or less spinning.

Along the lines I told Iron... There are no 15"dia 13"pitch props.. You might be able to send your 2313 to nettles and have them bend it to 13" pitch.
