U planning on getting the NSS? It is on my boat that should be arriving in June, just wondering what the changes it may have on your weight calculations.

NY - our family is only starting to surf so beginners for sure. My G25 is at MLA and hopefully close to being wrapped up with the stereo. After reading your post, I'd thought about just going ahead and having him put 1100's in the rear lockers to avoid having to take the boat down there again. What's your take? Should I go a season with stock or just have him go ahead and have him do it while he's got it?

If you are only having beginners.... Stock ballast will be just fine.
Now...if you are gonna roll out with the guys once in a while 100% plumb them in. I can tell you, if you have a G25 sitting there at your dock capable of throwing belly-chest high 15-20ft waves.... You are gonna find your way in to surfing more with the boys and older kids.
So yep on twin 1100s with overflows into the existing thru hulls with check valves plumbed via turn valves off the stock jabscos... Then have him plumb a 3rd removable 1100 triangle for the bow. Quick 1 hose setup for that, no overflow required.
if I were you I'd have 2-4 30gal gas caddies lined up ready to keep things going!2019 G23 450

Also wanted to add in ref to stock ballast surfing:
we start surfing as soon as stock ballast is filled.... And the 1100 surf side continues to fill while we surf. Takes about 12 mins to fill that 1100 all the way up off the Jabsco. The wave starts good.... And gets better and better.2019 G23 450

Hah, come on. I hear the 550 sips gas! I'll probably have him go ahead at least with the 2 rear 1100s. He says the stock fly highs are perfect fits. Just waiting on the custom sub grill that nauty220 had on his coastal edition G23. I liked it so much, we contacted his installer and are getting one cut for my boat.

AlianceBJJ- yes there is some exhaust on port side. I surfed my son there this weekend, and it wasnt too bad. If winds are just right.... meaning the winds blow them back into the boat or into the rider it could be a problem. We need somthing along the lines of FAE.... but without being as extreme and crazy as FAE. Just a well designed 6" turn down.
I see you are into BJJ, Ive trained with GJJ and several UFC guys several times... GJJ... by far amazing folks that not only live up to the hype but are well beyond.
Surf Vert seting = NSS. Same Same. NCRS is entirely different setting.

That's stock ballast + 1100 in the surfside trunk, also slightly turning to right. Somewhere around 11.6.2019 G23 450

Continuing to dial it in, solid 4ft wave there:
Full 2900lbs OEM ballast
NCRS 5 and Surf Vert 0, 11.6mph
1100 in the surf side trunk.
400? or so in the other trunk
40gals fuel
4 day weekend coming up and water is getting warmer... finally into a shortie. this weekend we'll play with putting weight in the bow.
Who was it now that said the Gs arent surf boats???
