    Nautique 230 Surf Wake ?

    Hey guys

Just purchased a 09 Nautique 230 and will be primarily using it for surfing. I ordered the 2 1100 lbs fatsacs and plan on taking out the stock 250's, also getting the 650 lbs center sac.

Any good tips or tricks / pointers to get the wake dialed in ?

    Thanks in advance.

I rode behind a 230 in January. I don't know what the set up was but it was definitely one of the best waves I've ever ridden!!! Good luck!

Dave - I just bought a 2012 230 and also ride behind my neighbor's 2008 230 (he has that thing dialed for surfing and boarding). For surfing, whatever side you will be surfing on all the way up (empty on the opposite side) and then fill the belly tank only. If you like a longer wave, then play with it by adding some of the Arrow Sac until you get it how you like it. Its an amazing surf boat - you'll be happy with it.

My Nautiqe rep says the 230 is Nautiqe's best surf boat...even better than the G23.

Congrats on your new boat! Please post your experiences and opinions here!

        Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback can't wait to get the new bags plumbed in and take it out. I am doing a few other things to it right now as well so it's going to be a few weeks.

Did you find a good deal on the arrow sac? I am looking for one myself. I am in the same boat (pun intended) as you as far as setting this thing up for a great surf wake.

i lack the 600lb sac on seat, but do move people into the corner. what speed & where do you put the gate? i typically try 10.5-10.8 with gate at 2.

I have heard its difficult to set up and kind of mellow. Is there any truth to that? Sorry to hijack ur thread but wanted first hand responses from 230 owners. Also if u could do it over would u still buy same boat

Gate lever all the way back. People all on surf side. The 600 lb sac made huge difference. If lotta people in boat sack on floor on surf side. Speed 10.3-10.5

                        Hi,

i came from a 06 wake setter, now have a 2010 230. the wake is melow but nice at std ballast but gets steeper and steeper the more weight you add. by the time you have 4k+ ballast it gets very steep. great wake with loads of pop. i heard the same thing on hard to dial the wake but we have had no troubles. though have noticed lead under the seats vs sacs in the middle of the boat help with washiness. maybe because the weight is more centred and top heavy with sacs predominantly may make it roll over easily. it is a little more washy than a wakesetter though not too much to be worried about and not as bad as a supra. Also yeh the surf wave is awesome.

also yes i am happy i bought the boat. i was after an x star though could not find any local with the rite motor. It is the best wake i have ridden. double ups are awesome and it turns on a dime. massive upgrade from the wake setter. though the storage is hopeless for a boat of that size. 210's and 230's suck in that regard. most of my under seat space is taken up with lead and the lockers full of sacs. would be good if it had the storage and std ballast of the G23

I think you're doing yourself a disservice with the gate at 2. The plate is raising the back of your boat up and you really need it all the way back.
