Need Pics of hydro gate on SN 206 please!

    Good morning all,

I am looking into adding hydro gate and sport shift to my newly acquired 2008 Ski Nautique 206 and have learned that the install can be done by removing my existing stainless steel fixed plate and replacing it with the hydrogate kit.

Before I pull the trigger on the kit I would very much appreciate getting some pictures of another members SN 206 with hydrogate so I can see where everything goes - i.e. a picture from inside the trunk with the floor piece removed, a picture of the sport shift from up under the gunnel (my boat has the cut out from the factory in the fiberglass but not the gray arm rest) and from the outside transom - straight on of the hydro gate.

This will help greatly in understanding how it all goes together before I take this on.

It appears that I will have drill a 1" hole for the piece that supports the cable going through the hull - everything else appears to bolt/screw right into the hull. Obviously need to use a generous amount of 5200 to ensure no leaks - any and all advise is greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

    Dave

I'd recommend 4200 rather than 5200. They both seal equally well but 5200 is not removeable. I know a lot of people like 5200 but since you are bolting the hydro gate anyway you don't really need to bond it as well- you just need a watertight seal. Consider the 4200 if you think you might ever need to remove the hydro gate for any reason (like to upgrade to whatever comes next like you are doing now).

      Happy boating.

I'll second what Yiger said about using the 4200 instead of 5200 in case you ever need to take it off. I replaced the rudder port in my old Sport and it was not a fun job getting the old one off because of the 5200. 4200 is suitable for below the waterline so I think you would be fine with that and have an easier job taking it off if you ever needed to.

4200 is fine, but 5200 is removable. Even when fairly fresh (6 months).

Between it being unusually cold and my sons b-day I have not had time. I will make a solid effort to do it Saturday or Sunday if it is not raining.

I will try also as all my panels are already out. I may have an inside shot on file but my filing system is terrible these days. (read: I'm overloaded and behind)

I took some pics of the gate mounted to the transom

I can take some more of the control handle, I'm assuming you want to see underneath? As in take some portion of the paneling off? I can try that tomorrow.

Yesterday I quickly read your post, looked in the rear storage locker and thought "I don't see anything to take a picture of ?? I've not had it apart before I will try again today the sun is out! Any secret to pulling the floor up and out?

Thanks for the pics! Exactly what I wanted. Especially in the trunk. Wanted to see idf there was a backer plate.

A shot from up under the gunnel to see under the sport shift would be great as well!!
                            Thanks!
